I'm not sure about Russia stepping in in other means than diplomatic. However, Iran is not weak, 3rd world country with obsolete armament. They have not great airforce but their navy, infantry and missile forces must be taken seriously. Plus fuckload of allied forces across the region. Iran has domestic ballistic missiles, air defense systems, drones, mini-submarines, fast boats and a lot of other funny things. Plus top notch Russian equipment (and it can be much more than officially known S-300 system). I bet there are numerous jammers and other electronic warfare systems from Russia as well.
Let's not forget - Trump commited 2 agressions against Syria because of bogus testimonies of jihadi scumbags. He tried to humilate Damascus with his poodles over fake stories about chemical attacks, without any concern about consequences. Story about his compassion over possible 150 dead Iranians is the biggest bullshit PR stunt I've seen in last years. I'm not sure about Russia stepping in in other means than diplomatic. However, Iran is not weak, 3rd world country with obsolete armament. I think, outside USA only a few people will know or are interested in the BS they are spreading. The whole theater is meant for internal use. The main reason for my wish to change this society is that so many human skills have no chance to come to fruition. Instead they are used in a really sick way so that people are maintaining their own suffering from wars, hunger and illness. But it can not be changed "top-down", only in some kind of "grassroots revolution" or better "evolution" where more and more people work together to get rid of TPTB (whoever that is).
No need for a "big event" but development. One of my ideas to reach it: Don't play "their" games - don't use "their" rules - don't think in the box of "their" paradigms.
It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.
That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".
