What would you say, does the German "work ethic" fit with Chinese management? Hopefully the US ideology (workplace as playground for idiots) has not yet destroyed all rationality in the workforces, I haven't witnessed much of the development in recent years.

This is exactly the problem. With Americans it does not work. The old German work ethic, yes, it could. But there are some differences. Chinese people do not think for themselves or take responsibility. They just follow orders. Without an order, they sleep in the office. But under stress, they can do amazing things.

There is another point. Of course the party (Die Partei, die Partei, die hat immer recht...) has an office in every department of every company and they follow closely, what is done. They organize the workers and students. There are no unions, but capitalism. So someone has to control this. I am on good terms with the party members (I am left wing anyhow). You see the flags everywhere, national flags, party flags. There are competions for the heroes of the work. Maybe Eastern Germans could even deal with this better, than Western Germans.

we hear here all the time that the Chinese are buying up everything but in truth it is the USA then UK then Europe then a few other countries and finally way down the list is China.
But try and tell people here the truth and they will argue it is always China. Truth does not matter to them
i would say the same here. disinformation to try and blame China while many other countries/Companies buy up everything.

I have got to know a lot of working areas (banks to craftsman's business) through temporary employment and 2 professions. Especially in the administration (purchasing department etc.) it happened that the performance of the employees became better when the boss was on vacation.
What was unthinkable in the past (told by others): constant complaints from customers because of delayed/no deliveries, a meeting is held to decide what colour carpet should be for the office! As I said, playground for idiots.

Massive robotization in coming ... is going to shape the work place and force, not the Chinese IMO

~30 - 50 % jobs will be lost, awaited for the next ? years. Dunno. What will "they" do? Distribute the work to all as far as possible or "citizen's income" for all?Panem et Circensis?
If they destroy the "useless eaters", there is still only 50 - 70 % work left for the rest, so it would be bullshit.
Best would be we get rid of the overlords and find a way to live with 20 man-hours a week - or even less. I think people can get used to this inconvenience.

Instead they are used in a really sick way so that people are maintaining their own suffering from wars, hunger and illness. But it can not be changed "top-down", only in some kind of "grassroots revolution" or better "evolution" where more and more people work together to get rid of TPTB (whoever that is).
No need for a "big event" but development. One of my ideas to reach it: Don't play "their" games - don't use "their" rules - don't think in the box of "their" paradigms.
It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.
That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".
