If you want the truth - that is there is no such thing as a "free" country. There is not and there never was. There are countries where the oppression is lower or higher, where the illusion of liberty is stronger or weaker. The inner strength, intellectual abilities and psychology of the individual make him a slave or a free man, not the society he lives in.
A state is by definition an oppressive system that dictates the will of some (in autocracies) or of the majority (in democracies) upon the others, thus limiting their freedom.
Apparently "..." means something different in your country than in Germany.
There's never been a free state before and that would be contradictory. And what you call "democracy" is an illusion, democracies have never been "democratic" for everyone. Even the illusion is now crumbling. "Freedom" in the "Free West" is something that very few people can afford.
According to your definition Germany is no democracy.

Instead they are used in a really sick way so that people are maintaining their own suffering from wars, hunger and illness. But it can not be changed "top-down", only in some kind of "grassroots revolution" or better "evolution" where more and more people work together to get rid of TPTB (whoever that is).
No need for a "big event" but development. One of my ideas to reach it: Don't play "their" games - don't use "their" rules - don't think in the box of "their" paradigms.
It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.
That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".

If they live in unbearable poverty conditions as the clip suggests, why are not the poor fleeing to "mother" China?
I am not saying that everyone lives decently in Hong Kong - obviously not and there is a huge disparity that should not exist in such a rich country. that does not mean at all that those poor people will live any better in China - by the contrary - the fact that they prefer to stay proves it.
Secondly - I am not saying there are no foreign interests there - of course there are.
US wants to keep China in check - they want conflicts around the world so they can play world cop and spend trillions on weaponry toys, bully weak countries and brag about it.
That doesn't mean that China is the angel here. Claiming territories lost up to 350 years ago is anachronistic and show imperial ambitions or at least regional domination. CCP doesn't give a shit about the standard of living of the people of Hong Kong. They didn't give a shift about the lives of tens of millions of Chinese people the purposely starved to death.
So the truth is that the people of Hong Kong don't want to back to China. The fact that the US is stirring the pot and takes advantage of the same people to advance their agenda is less important so don't use it to cover the truth.
no, they cant.

I think you did not quite grasp what I was saying.
Freedom itself as a concept is not an illusion but its generic use and applying it to a whole country or society, is.
Democracy does not mean freedom, and has very little to do with it - it's just a form of government. Better than others but it still basically means the dictatorship of mediocrity. Theoretically, people can have the very same liberties in autocracies as well.
Communism and capitalism are both politico-economical systems but in all instances, the form of government was still a democracy or at least declared as such.
Nazi Germany was a democracy as well, at least at the beginnings - wasn't it? If i'm not mistaken last parliamentary elections were in 1938.
China is theoretically a democracy as well and the overwhelming will of the people is to live in communism and be led by a single party that represents everyone.
Hey - even North Korea is a democracy - a beautiful one indeed where all the people think and feel them same

Actually Hongkong is just a useless island at the mouth of the Pearl River, now a pain in the ass of China. Beijing didn't need it before the Opium wars and doesn't need it now. They can do business in Shanghai and Guangzhou as they did in the Tang and Song dynasty. If this island gets destroyed and disappears from the map, China wouldn't care. After "Fortune" and "Forest", the 3rd #Iran/ian tanker, "Petunia", entered #Venezuela territorial waters today. "Faxon" is expected Friday and "Clavel", the fifth and last but not least would be arriving Sunday or Monday, depending on weather/sea condition. #VenezuelaLibre pic.twitter.com/zeae1FUm8l

Chopper video from Minnesota's KSTP-TV earlier as protesters demanding justice for George Floyd line the street. People are angry and say they'll demand justice despite the Mayor's announcement that four murder-involved officers were fired. pic.twitter.com/VTJah3eFz3

Here is Derek Chauvin, the racist cop who kept his knee on #GeorgeFloyd’s neck, cut off his air passage and murdered him, wearing a “Make Whites Great Again” hat, a clear sign that this piece of excrement should’ve been taken off the streets a long time ago.#JusticeForFloyd pic.twitter.com/KxGxHAIzlH

The diversity in this video & the amount of people who showed up to support is amazing. Sad that people have to even do stuff like this, but this is America. #GeorgeFloyd #Minneapolis #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd pic.twitter.com/K88Yyall8o
