Armenian PM hands over dark brown regions (Agdam and Lacin) to Azerbaijan. Red remains in Armenian hands with the condition of securing the road from Yerevan to Stepanagerd by Russian peace keepers.
Well, this doesn't look like very good situation. Basicly, Karabakh will be surrendered by Azeris. It won't stay long as that I guess.

I'm hunting for Putin's 4D chess rationale on this one but the fall of the rest of Karabakh is now inevitable unless Russia stays there for 1000 years. I think that is the point, they have agreed to just slowly sacrifice it and perhaps make sure the whole population isn't genocided in the process? Which is more than they owe anyone to be honest. Unfortunately it will embolden Turkey and Azerbaijan for sure - rightly or wrongly it makes Russia look weak like when they allow Israel to fly into Syria and bomb stuff at will. They are probably both licking their chops planning how to finish off Armenia at this point.
I don't think Russia can go around saving the entire world and I think Russia just didn't see it as having any value to them to save a disputed island within Azerbaijan proper I suppose. The way the whole thing is set up is wonky and I am not sure what national interest that little chunk of land is for Russia?
But this proves that those who idolize Russia as this great international savior policeman (yes many people believe that) are also unrealistic. Bottom line Russia looks out for its own interests like everybody else.
