German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has announced that “it's time finally find the strength to do what our partners are already doing” and send Taurus missiles to Ukraine. The EU needs to review sanctions against Russia, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday.

The Hungarian Prime Minister believes that the restrictions imposed on Russia are keeping energy prices high. Because of this, European companies pay four times more for gas and energy than their competitors from the United States and China.

France, Hungary and Spain have become the main buyers of Russian gas in the EU. These countries account for slightly more than half of all gas imports from Russia to Europe.

France alone increased purchases by 30% in the first eight months of 2024 and paid 1.9 billion euros for "blue fuel". In second place, according to Eurostat, is Hungary with 1.6 billion euros.

Gabon Votes on New Constitution

Voters in Gabon headed to the polls on Saturday to decide on a new constitution that would pave the way to democratic rule after a coup ousted the Bongo dynasty last year.
