Report of The international institute of the Newly Established States about elections in Israel
The most curious (for me) is the last part:"Russian trace"
It should be noted that this year a lot is happening for the first time in the Israeli electoral process. And the fastest re-election, and the largest number of registered participants, for the first time the state controller is so dependent on the prime minister, for the first time the Minister of Justice is pushing the BAGAC. "For the first time, for the first time, for the first time ....
It is interesting that with regard to the activity of Russian-speaking Israelis, one can also say that a lot is happening for the first time. For the first time, Lieberman, representing the Russian-speaking party, secured his tenacity in re-election to the Knesset. For the first time, Russian-speaking groups began to actively campaign for the left, starting from Kahol Laban and ending with the Communists. For the first time, a new aliyah from Russia and Ukraine actively participates in election campaigns, independently organizes meetings with politicians of various directions and tries to deal with party programs and their promises.
We can state the formation of an active political position among the left and secular part of the Russian-speaking Israelis who feel a threat to their interests.
Unfortunately, unlike the April elections, in which the left parties worked with Russian-speaking voters, for example, Khadash opened a Russian-speaking headquarters, these elections showed that the left parties practically stopped working with Russian-speaking and left them to Our Israel Israel and "Likud", which is actively campaigning among Russian speakers. By the way, the main APM "Likud" Netanyahu is a photo with Trump and a photo with Putin. These posters taped all the cities of Israel.
Interestingly, the revolt of the "Ethiopian Jews", refugees from Eritrea and Ethiopia, which paralyzed all of Israel for several days in July, influenced the revitalization of the Russian-speaking sector. On the one hand, Russian-speaking networks took the actions of Protestants extremely negatively, on the other hand, it became obvious that Ethiopian activity brings its community financial dividends.
It should be noted that in connection with the protracted political crisis and frequent elections, there is reason to expect that Russian-speaking groups will continue their socio-political activity in the inter-election period.
Translation is a bit broken, but that's one of the answers why he went to Sochi.
Ha! good catch. interesting tidbit.
So... I saw/read nothing in the thread since the report of 'sudden' trip to Sochi
then the russian/Rupley news feed footage of Putin and Netanyahu dialoging but
no translations and no transcripts of what was said face-to-face (that I've seen...)
and... did Putin seem to 'lend' his endorsement of the Likud tactics described in your piece?
Sounds like it was a 'photo op' to be sure.... but what was said?
Interesting and 'clever' of 'Russian-speakers' community to unite with practical 'tactics' of their own.
Why 'give' their endorsement away for free? It's up for 'trade' negotiations. hahaha.

Some bits:
<...>
Israeli journalist: "We all understand that each time Netanyahu's goes to Putin it concerns our security, that's why his visits to Russia especially draws big attention"
<...>
Narrator: "Vladimir Putin noted that they contact each other on many topics. Now Israel is on the brink of elections and, according to President's words, Russia and Moscow are not indifferent who will be included in Jewish state's parliament"
Putin: "It's well known that more than 1.5 mln people in Israel are from Soviet Union. We've always considered them or people, we call them compatriots. And of course we are not indifferent what people will come to Israeli parliament. We expect that they will be responsible politicians who'll in any case will preserve everything gained in our bilateral affairs lately and will be progressing together with us further in them. I'll say directly without fear [of being misunderstood] that in large part with your [Netanyahu's] efforts our relations entered new quality in the questions of security, in regards of military cooperation, and we know how important it is in the light of ongoing war with global terrorism."
<...> some explanation about Israel not supporting any side of the conflict, but bombing Hezbollah <...>
Netanyahu: "I think that strengthening relations between our countries is a result of another two factors as well: firstly very calm and measured policy of us both, and secondly, our personal relations thanks to which we managed to prevent unneeded confrontations between our militaries. I can proclaim with all responsibility that it's an important factor of stability in the region."
<...>
If that's not endorsing, I don't know what's endorsing is...
Well, I understand Putin's logic. It's better to deal with someone you know and understand than with some amorphous coalition that would be created in the case Netanyahu loses.

Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked. There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!

Re: #33 - Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
Three days ago, oil prices hitting $100 a barrel was almost an impossible scenario. Not anymore. That’s not just because of the current disruption from Saudi Arabia, but the fact that the chances of military conflict in the region have risen dramatically. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed Iran for the drone attacks, and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said the United States should consider an attack on Iran’s oil refineries. Meanwhile President Trump warned that the US is ‘locked and loaded’. If such statements continue to flow from the US administration, geopolitical risk premium would increase significantly as any strike against Iran may put the whole Gulf region in jeopardy. If investors begin pricing in the possibility of an attack against Iran’s crude infrastructure, oil may quickly hit the $100 benchmark.
