Russian Supersonic Bombers Head To Arctic Borders, 500 Miles From Alaska

The Russian military plans on sending Tu-160 supersonic bombers to its sub-Arctic, eastern maritime borders this year, Lieutenant-General of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Sergei Kobylash, said Friday.

Turkey is increasing economical and political presence in the Balkan countries


While the EU has clearly indicated to the Balkan states that they will not soon become its members, Turkey is expanding its economic and political influence in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.
The Balkans is a battlefield of different forces for influence - from the US and Russia to the EU and China, and Turkey, which is rapidly building its power in this part of Europe. Reuters mentions, as an example, Turkish investments in the poorest regions of Serbia. The mayor of the small poor Serbian town of Krupanj in the west of the country, Ivan Isajlovic, will travel to Constantinople next week to attract new investors.
The Turkish companies has already created 300 jobs at the textile factory in Krupanj, which was the largest investment in 30 years in the city, which was severely affected by floods in 2014. The investment was also facilitated by the ever closer political ties between Belgrade and Ankara. 
While western European governments and investors are neglecting small markets in the neighboring region, Turkish investors, according to Mark Čadež , head of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, are looking for opportunities in less-developed areas. The Chamber reports that in the last year, 20 Turkish factories have been opened in Serbia or under construction.

Trade between Turkey and the six Balkan countries wishing to become EU members is steadily increasing. While totaling $ 435 million in 2002, it has grown to three billion by 2016, with almost a third of it being exchanged with Serbia.
