As of 2018, wikipedia reported they had 14 Su-24 bombers and I think they lost at least 2-3 in the past.
We did not hear any reports of Syria receiving new bombers.
Since the mission readiness is maximum 30% it means they could not have more than 3 at a time in the sky at best.
This basically means that Syrian planes cannot enter Idlib anymore, at least for now and any further airstrikes we hear about will have to be Russian
As far as Russian planes I am am only aware of 1 SU-24 and 1 SU-25 and the transport plane with the military orchestra being shot down the whole war unless I have forgotten. I think they lost a Russian MI-24/35 helicopter as well during a rescue attempt.

Sorry I misread what you meant, I was thinking you meant Russian AF planes. I do agree with your point though. On the other hand, Syria's airforce is and always has been almost non-existent. It is kind of like Iran's. I have been following this war closely since 2013 and I rarely see Syria use the SU-24, At the peak of their action they were mostly using the SU-22 for bombing work followed by the MiG-21. You'd occasionally see the MiG-23, a couple of times the Mig-29. But my point is that without Russia's airpower Syria doesn't have a leg to stand on and oddly enough they have had many years to rectify this by now with new jets, train up a bunch of pilots, and they don't seem to take any action to fix the problem and I am not sure why? I almost wonder if Russia just wants to control the airspace itself as to minimize interference/accidents? Not sure.
There is a lot of disinformation right now, does anyone have any credible evidence that 3 Syrian planes were truly shot down? A lot of the stuff in the last few days has just been false/disinfo so I'll believe it when I see the scraps of a couple of burnt up Cy-24 on the ground.

I agree - most is guessing or disinfo. It is not possible to accurately identify the high altitude flying planes visually from the ground and I have never seen SAA informing about bombers used.ANON2 wrote:

Su24 carries at least twice as much as Su22 and the others are not really meant to be bombers.
From the aerial view of the Khmeimim air base which is said to host a total of 30 Russian planes and helicopters I can only see 5 Su24, about 10 fighters, a handful of transport aircraft and a several helicopters. Late 2019 they announced they will build a new runway to accommodate more but will take time.
Turkey has a lot of fighters - 240 F16's not counting the others so there is no way we will see any aerial conflict over Syria - the only thing holding them back are the Russian AA systems.
Syria is in dire straights financially and cannot afford to buy any new planes.
