#Venezuelan Scenario: Formation of Govt of #Belarus in Exile Begins
#Belarusian Eurointegrators are trying to implement “Venezuelan scenario” in their country, when collective West simply appoints a convenient person to post of head of state & ignores the officially acting Govt.

Protests in Belarus will result in losses for Russia
Moscow will have to forget about the timely repayment of Minsk’s debt to Russia in the amount of almost $8 bln.
Experts interviewed by the newspaper believe that Moscow would have to help Minsk with the repayment of other foreign loans for another $10 bln. And if ties are severed, then Russia will lose an ally worth some $9-10 bln of investment per year.

One of the strangest events prior the election was detainment of alleged "Wagner mercenaries". Lukashnko claimed they were sent to Belarus in order to organize protests. Personally I think he hoped that the west will be pleased and will accept his victory (and, probably, he hoped for cheap gas and oil as well). As this did not work out well he runs back to Russia and asks for help.
Meanwhile, EU calls for new elections and, together with US, they plan the only thing they can do - impose sanctions.

Aye i did read something about that the bit that threw me off was the stance Lukashnko had then a sudden reversal asking for Russian help.

That's why I think it was just trick to make west accept his victory. I think it's still unclear who exactly was arrested and where they were going. Some claims that they were heading to Turkey actually. I think they will be released soon as Pompeo already calls for regime change in Belarus. Funny is he personally offered US gas and oil to Lukashenko some 6 months ago...

#Belarus hands over 32 ‘Russian mercenaries’ KGB accused of ‘planning riots’, ignoring #Ukraine’s extradition demand.
It seems #Lukashenko finally took the right pill.
