Israel targets ‘military positions’ near Homs; Syria reacts with force

The Israeli regime stages an aerial strike against the military positions lying in the countryside of Syria’s western city of Homs, prompting Syria to bring down most of the incoming missiles.

The official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said the attack targeted the positions in the early hours of Thursday.

The Syrian defenses intercepted most of the missiles before they reached their desired targets, it added.

Further details concerning the circumstances that surrounded the attack are yet to be made available by Syria’s official sources.

This is the third time in a row that the occupying regime tries to strike targets within the Arab country in the space of just one week.

On Tuesday, Syria’s air defenses shot down seven out of eight missiles that had been launched by Israeli warplanes during an aggression targeting the northwestern Syrian province of Aleppo.

And a day earlier, the Syrian military similarly intercepted several missiles that had been fired during Israeli airstrikes against the same province.

Syria and the Israeli regime are technically at war due to the latter’s 1967-present occupation of the Arab country’s Golan Heights.

The Israeli regime maintains a significant military presence in the territory, which it uses as a launchpad for its attacks on the Syrian soil.

The attacks started to grow significantly in scale and frequency after 2011, when Syria found itself in the grip of rampant foreign-backed militancy and terrorism.

Tel Aviv claims that its attacks target alleged supplies that are headed for the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah. On countless occasions, though, the strikes have targeted the reinforcement belonging to Syria’s military and its allies.

The regime has also been providing safe passage and medical treatment to the Takfiri terrorists, who flee the allies’ defensive operations.

The point is, if they would act bravely, only their immediate superiors would punish them, but if they would go to a court, they would win against their immediate superiors and these would get sacked. This has happened before and is successful. The problem is the mind-set of the people, they cannot see the bigger picture. When they get an order, they follow this order blindly, even if the situation is changing. Even the best idea and the best order is destroyed this way. They never understand, why they get this order. And they cannot apply their orders to the situation. This is very frustrating.
