UPDATE: Taliban capture city of Qala e Naw, this makes 4 provincial capitals captured today and at least 6 in the last 24 hours.

The US estimation that Kabul will survive between 30 and 90 days is too long. Kabul will fall earlier.

Obviously the time needed to fall of Kabul depends on how fast US backed figures will run...

When I watch the Taliban, their strategy seems to be obvious. First they take the open country and isolate the cities. Then the cities fall into their hands like ripe fruits: Kandahar, Herat, Ghazni, Baghdis.....

The next step is to connect all their areas and surround Mazar-i-Sharif. Dostum will have his last stand. The Tajiks will stand at the border in full gear, supported by the Russians and watch the show.

And then and not before Kabul will be surrounded and besieged at last. In the meantime all the Americans and Brits and their supporters will storm the airport. Planes will come in from Turkey dropping run-away Afghans and picking up the fleeing Americans.
