internet is cut. ATM are not working. people have small amount of cash on hand and prices are rising up (there is coup underway in kazakhstan after all). shops have small amount of food in storage because of just in time delivery. people are running out of food in big cities. or are about to run out. there is typically 2-3 days of stock on the shelf's  

when people run out of food real fun starts.

Just in time means, reduction of storage, storage is done on the road, railroad and ship, to reduce the cost for big storage halls. It's pure greediness. The companies want to raise their profit. Normally in such a situation you should leave big cities as fast as possible. This is nearly impossible in Kaskhstan now, because of the winter and the large deserts between the population centres. Especially Mangischlag is completely isolated and surrounded by huge deserts. In Almaty the people could try to escape into the mountains, but there they are running into the border with Kyrgystan, that is closed and sealed now.
