So much I want to say but it's all going around in circles in my head.

Russia was counting on bringing Zelensky to the negotiating table at the start of this, but Boris et al threw a spanner in the works. Since then Russia has fought for and incorporated several regions into Russia.
But what has Russia's "end game" been since it became obvious the West was going to dig in?
Surely Putin must have seen this coming.
Russia knows that it cannot trust the West one iota. Carving up Ukraine and holding the East side of the Dnieper is surely giving NATO carte blanche to roll in with nukes and militarize the Western half? No amount of UN resolutions to create a "buffer state" will make any difference to the US and their "rules-based order". They'll just do as they please.
But regardless if Russia takes half, or all of Ukraine, what then? It's either world war now, or later? It seems to me it's already started with the 2014 coup.
The requests/demands by Russia in December required NATO to exit countries added since the '90s. Does this still hold?
Is Russia counting on holding the line as BRICS grows and the US falls? Russia's patience appears to be legendary.

This is all kind of rhetorical, by the way, I'm trying to make sense of it all. Bear in mind that several times a day, I make a cup of coffee and then lose it and have to search the house for it. I also just made a cat hutch which I managed to build upside down and inside out Any insight into this would be appreciated. (Not the coffee and cat hutch problem )

Im in the same boat I admitted to Zod yesterday I cant figure all this out Zod explained the Kherson situation quite well he has been following military adventures world wide for 10 years or more now and I definately value his opinion also our man in Manchuria knows enough history to make out the present I defer to these 2 posters analysis all I have figured is the USA would rather blow up the world than surrender its money printing press.
