Russia Intelligence Chief Naryshkin: "Sanctions are essentially an appropriation of power over something that does not belong to you.
By imposing them, the West unambiguously makes it clear to the other side:
'Everything you think you own - resources, goods, technology, communications - is actually mine;
no one is allowed to buy or sell it without my permission.'"
Russia Intelligence Chief Naryshkin: "The structure of multipolarity will continue to grow and strengthen,
protecting the rights of nations to sovereignty and identity while promoting real economic development.
No beast on earth will succeed in dismantling this structure."

"Miserable" 20Y JGB (Japan government bonds) Auction Tails Most Since 1987, Adding To Bond Gloom
This morning global bond yields hitting a 15 year high, a move that was catalyzed by what Bloomberg dubbed a "miserable" 20 year auction, which priced with the longest tail - or the difference between average and cut-off prices - since 1987, while the bid-to-cover ratio fell to the lowest since September. The Ministry of Finance sold about 992.5 billion yen ($6.78 billion) of the bond at an average yield of 1.322%, with the yield at 1.385% for the lowest accepted price. The dismal reception promptly sent yields to the highest level since January.

1997 Asian financial crisis
The 1997 Asian financial crisis was a period of financial crisis that gripped much of East and Southeast Asia during the late 1990s. The crisis began in Thailand in July 1997 before spreading to several other countries with a ripple effect, raising fears of a worldwide economic meltdown due to financial contagion.[1] However, the recovery in 1998–1999 was rapid, and worries of a meltdown quickly subsided.

🪖 Wagner rebellion was not staged, and even the West would not like such a development of events now - Lukashenka
“About “Putin is not the same”. Putin is absolutely not the same. This is Putin already squared. Recently, everyone has learned a lot, including Putin.
This is no longer the same person, this is an even wiser and more cunning person, so you know.
And if someone thinks that "ah, here is Prigozhin's rebellion, Putin is weakened," - complete nonsense.
Putin is simply more mobilized, smarter and wiser. Our opponents should know this,” Lukashenka said.

China’s property crisis deepens as another huge developer risks default - Wed August 9, 2023
Hong Kong CNN — Investor confidence in China’s troubled property sector has been rocked again this week by reports that one of the country’s largest private building conglomerates missed interest payments on two bonds.China’s vast real estate industry was long an important engine of growth in the world’s second biggest economy, accounting for as much as 30% of the country’s GDP.But many major developers racked up huge debts, typified by the collapse two years ago of Evergrande which was followed by a wave of defaults across the industry. The latest major industry player to get into trouble is Country Garden, once China’s largest developer.Shares in the construction giant have plunged 16% in Hong Kong since Tuesday, after reports by Reuters and Chinese media that it missed interest payments on two US dollar-denominated bonds. Several of Country Garden’s yuan-denominated bonds were suspended from trading in Shanghai and Shenzhen on Tuesday after they dropped by more than 20%.

China's Country Garden Says 'Major Uncertainties' Over Bond Payments - August 16, 2023
Country Garden -- listed among the world's 500 biggest companies by Forbes -- has warned of losses worth billions of dollars and is staring at the possibility of a default.Like its troubled competitor Evergrande, any collapse of Country Garden would have catastrophic repercussions for the Chinese financial system and economy."There are currently major uncertainties in the redemption of corporate bonds," the company said in a filing to the Shanghai stock exchange on Wednesday. The privately owned firm was long deemed financially stable but it failed to make two bond payments last week. After a 30-day grace period, it risks defaulting in September.Country Garden estimated its debt at some 1.15 trillion yuan ($159 billion) at the end of 2022, and said at the weekend it would suspend trading of onshore bonds from Monday. Additional liabilities mean other estimates of its overall debt are as high as 1.4 trillion yuan ($193 billion), according to Bloomberg. Adding to the pressure, 31 billion yuan ($4.27 billion) in the firm's bonds are set to mature in 2024, according to rating agency Moody's, which downgraded its rating for the group last Thursday to "Caa2", indicating "very high credit risk".
