these ships can carry a 100s to 1000s Tomahawk missiles. Depending on configuration of Mark 41 Vertical Launching System. The ESSM is loaded in a quad-pack with 4 missiles in one Mk 25 canister, older types of 8 cell modules are not able to use ESSM. there is a 1000 km from Eastern Mediterranean to Crimea. and that is well in range. there is 1500 km to Tehran. there is 2500 km from Eastern Mediterranean to Moscow. Russians do not know what is in Mk 25 canister. it could be anti-air missile, it could be anti-ship missile...it could be Tomahawk with regular warhead. but also, these canisters can have hundreds of Tomahawk missiles with nuclear warheads. there is no way to tell what is in the canisters from aerial reconnaissance. there is also movement into Europe and the area with B-2 and B-1 bombers and other airplanes.
