Dozens of American rabbis have disrupted the United Nations General Assembly in New York to urge Washington not to stand in the way of an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

During their protest on Tuesday, the rabbis carried banners that read “Biden: The World Says Ceasefire” and called on the US president to “stop vetoing peace.”

After they were escorted from the premises by security staff, they held a press conference outside the UN.

Rabbi Alyssa Wise, one of the advocates of the Gaza ceasefire, told a reporter that they are watching in horror as the US government "single-handedly blocks Israel's efforts to stop bombing and starving Gaza."

Anadolu writes that Azerbaijan has accelerated the construction of infrastructure of the future project through the Syunik region of Armenia.

And Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu noted that the Azerbaijani part of the route is almost paved. The construction of the Turkish section with a length of 224 kilometers is planned to be completed in 2028.

CNN has long been criticized by media analysts and journalists for its deference to the Israeli government and the Israel Defense Forces in its coverage of the occupied Palestinian territories, and the cable network admitted Thursday that it follows a protocol that could give Israeli censors influence over its stories.

A spokesperson for the network confirmed to The Intercept that its news coverage about Israel and Palestine is run through and reviewed by the CNN Jerusalem bureau—which is subject to the IDF's censor.
