The problem is not USA per se. of course, US will (probably go into hyperinflation and all that). The bigger problem are all the other currencies whose exchange rate is fixed to the dollar (and euro). Those that are pegged are dead (immediately). Those that have swap deals are also dead at the same time. They are going together because they can not off load junk paper (dollar) fast enough to keep the value of their own currencies.

Those arrangements terminated on February 1, 2010.
