Production in Germany Plummeted by a Record 2.5% in May 2024
Analysts expected a 0.2% growth, but Germany has a way of surprising. Due to self-imposed sanctions, the automotive industry saw a 5.2% drop and mechanical engineering fell by 5.9%. Compared to 2023, production decreased by 6.7%.
Over the past 10 years since 2014, Germany's industrial production index has declined by 9%.

A shortage of workers of various specialties, as well as engineers and designers, could jeopardize the European plan for energy independence.
In France alone, which has announced a plan to build an entire network of nuclear power plants, tens of thousands of workers are needed. The French nuclear industry association GIFEN states that by 2033, France will require around 10,000 employees per year to address the labor shortage.
Construction sites are hiring retirees and actively recruiting specialists from Eastern European countries, but this still does not provide the necessary number of workers to ensure the construction projects proceed as planned

Not much happening in Australia today,3 children killed in a housefire (domestic homicide)where a 28 year old man was fighting off firefighters and police hindering rescue efforts,this sort of murder where they kill the kids to get at the ex-partner or partner is becoming all too common.Domestic violence has increased markedly since covid and all its resultant economic ills.
