Mousa Abu Marzouk, a member of the Hamas political bureau and the head of the movement's international relations department, said that Hamas is ready to release two hostages holding Russian citizenship as part of a prisoner exchange with Israel. Abu Marzouk made these statements to the Russian news agency RIA.

According to the report, Abu Marzouk met a day earlier in Moscow with Deputy Foreign Minister and Russian envoy to the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov.

Abu Marzouk said, "The Russian side had previously requested the release of citizens holding Russian nationality."

According to him, there are currently two Russian citizens held captive in Gaza. One of them is Alexander Sasha Tropanov, who holds both Israeli and Russian citizenship. Abu Marzouk continued, "He is an army officer who was captured during the fighting and is with Islamic Jihad. He will be exchanged for Palestinian prisoners," adding that the other captive is Maxim Kharkin.
Maxim Kharkin is Ukrainian. At the time of his capture, he was not a Russian citizen. His family came to Russia and obtained citizenship for him so that Russia could assist in his release. "He is not a civilian; he is a military man," said Abu Marzouk. "He served in the Israeli army."

He added that "as a gesture of respect" by Hamas to their Russian counterparts, they will prioritize the two captives for their release first in the deal that will be finalized.

A high-ranking delegation from Russia has arrived in Tel Aviv for talks with Israel on a possible agreement with Hamas on the release of hostages in Gaza, Al-Hadas TV reported, citing sources.

BREAKING: An Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon tonight targeted a hotel near Hasbaiyya, killing two Al-Mayadeen employees, a photojournalist and a technician, as well as a journalist from Al-Manar.

The strike hit a chalet and hotel in the mountainous region that hosted journalists from various Lebanese media outlets, many with “Hezbollah affiliations” (which apparently makes them a target).
