Act of war....amazing. It was just ordinary cyber attack on some of the American institutions if I understand it right. So what?!! Why is that an act of war when Americans do the same in pretty much every European country? Why are they allowed but once somebody raises a finger and stick it in American business all the sudden its unfair game and a blow under the belt?

I know what I'm talking about, I worked on American embassy for seven years as security. I'm not saying I was allowed to sniff around and that Americans were telling everybody what they are doing but it was a well known "secret". They got whole attic in the building of the embassy intended for spying. Big computer boxes and servers and electronic devices and whatnot. They spy on Slovenian government, they spy on Slovenian opposition and they spy on every major political party there is in the country. They got five employees managing that, every one of them intelligence agent, doesn't even matter which agency. Is that an act of war? And they are doing this in EVERY European country.

Americans influenced Ukrainian elections as well not just the ones before the revolution but also the orange revolution that happened few years before civil war. Why is that okay?I personally don't mind this behavior, hey but at least admit it. What you give is what you get, so stop acting offended. Like I said, I don't mind if you do it but don't be a hypocrite god damn, keep it real.

It was done through phishing e-mails afaik, so in other words some tech naive democrats were the ones who handed their sensitive info to the 'attackers'. Although I would say, because of how the data is obtained from phishing, 'attack' is too strong a word; opportunism or indeed idiocy would be a better word to use. And then of course we have to take the U.S.'s word that the Russian govt was involved yet there is no presentable evidence so far.

Actual legit spies don't even get this much attention. When you hear of spies being discovered they usually are just sent back to their country of origin and that's the end of it. Clearly it's the effect of the e-mail leak that many democrats are angered about, rather than how it was done or who did it. Notice that before the election these leaked e-mails were barely being discussed by the media, democrats, liberals because they believed its effect was insignificant and so they didn't really care about who was leaking the e-mails back then... Some people may have understandably forgotten about that since all we've heard post-election is "Russia, Russia, Russia".

It's quite hard to offer some evidence when it's quite well known that US spook agencies have tools how to pretend "Russian hacks" for years.

The CIA can fake the fingerprint origin of a hack to make it look like it came from a foreign agent hacker or country.

What is more interesting is that no one even talks about Clinton's activities on illegal mail server anymore. Also, there was some misbehavior exposed by the leaks and, yet again, it's completely forgotten.
