Re: #6 - Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
The UK faces a "democratic crisis" due to the spread of "pernicious views" and the manipulation of personal data, a parliamentary committee is set to warn.
In its first report it will suggest social media companies should face tighter regulation.
It also proposes measures to combat election interference.
The committee suggests:
1. Social media sites should be held responsible for 'harmful' content on their services
Companies such as Facebook and YouTube have repeatedly said they are just a "platform", rather than a "publisher". They have argued that they are not responsible for the content people post on their services.
This should establish "clear legal liability for the tech companies to act against harmful and illegal content on their platforms," the report said.
2. The rules on political campaigns should be made fit for the digital age
3. Technology companies should be taxed to fund education and regulation
4. Social networks should be audited
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44967650
Point 1. sort of relates to a comment that Trinity on GLP made recently regarding Paypal's restrictions on GLP. He too made the argument that he believes GLP is not responsible for the content on its site and only the people who make the posts are responsible for their own individual content.

Sure, I get that the legislation would on the whole be very negative since the censoring of legitimate viewpoints and factual infos is almost certainly what would happen. But let's say these new rules are intended for all public communications, not just Facebook, Twitter, but public forums also. Then what about a forum where the owner is running a cointel operation and part of it includes encouraging others to push genuine extremist content on his website such as death threats, rape threats, other forms of violence, vile racism etc. Should that owner not be held legally responsible for doing this, or should he be allowed to get away with it and that aspect of the cointel op remains unhindered by him using reasoning that he isn't responsible for what others post on his website (even when he does not remove such genuine extremist content posted by others on the site).

Now, when they already attracted hundreds of millions of users they are about to decide what is truth, and thus can be shared, or what is not and has to be censored. With direct impact on hundreds of million of users there will be introduced "Ministry of Truth". Just in one example - the official standpoint is that the White Helmets are heroes. If proofs confirming that they are closely linked to the jihadist terrorists will be shared then they will be considered as "harmful" and censored. Those, who will share such informations, will be criminalized and punished.
Not single one dictatorship in the human's history had such powerfull tool to control masses and brainwash whole nations. Really concerning imho.
Well, he won't be. It's a part of the whole scheme. Cointelpro is about working behind the "enemy lines". They infected conspiracy/truther community (intentionally). They push official govt. standpoints within this community, pretending that they are part of this community. And, at least but not last, they collect informations about "extremists". And it does not mean only about KKK supporters or Black Panther supporters or whatever. It means about people like you or me, who are not willing to take their bait. Who are interested and aware. Even if the whole Lockheed/Tavistock connection is pure bullshit, even if so, then it does not change anything because it works still the same way.

An old man trips a little on his words and the f***ing idiot brigade just grasp at the straws and have to make a sodding video.
He said "We didn't go there" as in "we didn't go for the long haul on the moon" after the initial seven missions (six landings).
These videos are made by people with too much f***ing time on their hands and who were probably born around 1990.
The word is EVIDENCE, and that's all I care about. There is a stack of evidence to prove they went to the moon, and all of the so-called arguments against it can be knocked down in a moment, they hold about as much weight as the flat-earth theory.

As Buzz said, the word is MONEY, and not an 8-year old's question. They let me stay up late, as an 8-year-old, to watch that first landing. The Command Module was busy mapping the far side while Neil and Buzz kept us entertained. Ham operators picked up transmissions that were never released to the public.Mr Badger wrote:The word is EVIDENCE, and that's all I care about. The Shuttle Program was an even bigger circus. The very first one landed six minutes late, due to Soviet Cosmodrome "intervention." The reason is it was not the same one that launched so it was a shell game from the start. Challenger and Columbia were lost long before the public was shown their burning up.
Don't bother asking me for links. I lost a computer over poking that hornets' nest years ago. Never A Straight Answer, and not worth the effort.

at least we have the videos from the first landing and the plans for the rockets and of course those moon rocks they gave away.

"The first craft to explore beyond Earth orbit since the Apollo days, the spacecraft would be developed and tested by 2008 and conduct its first manned mission no later than 2014. "

#UPDATE - Nangarhar officials confirmed the midwife training center is under attack in #Jalalabad. Three people have so far been transferred to hospital but an unknown number of staff and midwives are still in the compound. The attack has been ongoing for more than two hours.
