Lol. It's huge over there. Konami, one of Japan's biggest games companies, is a leader in the industry and recently divested itself of most of its video game staff in order to focus on the more profitable pachinko market, for instance.

Well, I had to search what "pachinko" actually is.
Lol. It's huge over there. Konami, one of Japan's biggest games companies, is a leader in the industry and recently divested itself of most of its video game staff in order to focus on the more profitable pachinko market, for instance.
Interesting. I know Konami for their Silent Hill franchise.

Actually, that's the series they shut down when they decided to focus on pachinko. They were working on a reboot of Silent Hill with Guillermo del Toro called "PT". They shut it down as well as some of their other franchises and fired hundreds of employees. This was 2-4 years ago I think.

Maybe it's not exactly on topic...but I remember that they had some quite fierce conflict with Hideo Kojima. It also ended their Metal gear franchise I think.
