Iran will close the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway vital for global oil shipments, if the country is prevented from using it, a senior military official said on Monday in what appears to be a response to the U.S. plan to end waivers on Iranian oil exports.
“If we are prevented from using it, we will close it,” the state-run Fars news agency reported, citing Alireza Tangsiri, head of the Revolutionary Guard Corps navy force. “In the event of any threats, we will not have the slightest hesitation to protect and defend Iran’s waterway.”

Well, I have to agree with you at full BUT don't forget - this is a great chess game of our times! Surely Putin still considers Israeli and US counterparts as "partners". That's his job. And Shoigu considers them as enemies. That's what is his job. 2. Border with Turkey will remain closed to trading and oil
3. Will alienate most of the Syrian population who hate the Saudis.
4. Will have to eventually face Israel in the Golan alone
Pro's of choosing Iran
1. Will have the alliance with Iran, Iraq and Hezbollah intact
2. Can count of Iran and Iraq to provide fighters for the Idlib battle
3. Qatar will pay for the rebuilding of Syria
4. Turkey will open their border with Syria for trading and allowing Iranian and Iraqi oil through to Syria
5. Can ally with Turkey against American YPG proxies
Cons of choosing Iran
1. America will use Iran as an excuse to continue to occupy the country.
2. Russia may Stab Syria in the back and give Israel the positions of key assets to bomb in order to pressure Syria to throw Iran and Hezbollah under the bus.

Donald Trump plans state visit to UK in June
Donald Trump’s postponed state visit to the UK is due to take place in June, it will be confirmed on Tuesday, prompting renewed calls for protests against the trip.
Buckingham Palace is due to announce the visit will be timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the D-day landings on 6 June, the Guardian understands.

Well this should be interesting. This time Trump would likely come into much closer proximity with the crowds and possibly giving a speech to members of Parliament. To get an idea of how awkward this could be like imagine one of Mike Pence's anti-Iran speeches to the European audiences and increase the awkwardness factor by 100. Trump already postponed a state visit a few times because the optics would be unfavorable for him (he's really unpopular with a very large segment of the population, particularly in London), so I'm surprised he's going ahead with this.
