Labour party to be investigated by EHRC over alleged discrimination against Jews
An investigation into whether the Labour Party "unlawfully discriminated against, harassed or victimised people because they are Jewish" has been launched by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
The EHRC said it had contacted Labour after receiving a "number of complaints" about antisemitism within the party.

“There’s been a widening of the definition of anti-Semitism to include criticism of Israel, then anyone who's sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians is called 'anti-semitic', that is what's happened." Clare Short, former Labour MP pic.twitter.com/Yq9b3os7d6
— Radlett Labour (@UKLabourRadlett) May 28, 2019
Interesting. So it looks like this "anti-semitism" farce will finally come to an end one way or another. Thisindependent commission will either conclude from their investigation that Corbyn is effectively an anti-semite, in which case the commission would expose itself that it is corrupted by globalists. Or they will announce there is no widespread anti-semitism in the Labour party in which case the globalists who are trying to bring down the party from within would be denounced as the witch hunters and liars that they are.
There is a very good chance of a general election in the UK later this Autumn or early next year. In the EU elections just gone the ruling conservative party were obliterated for going back on their promise to take UK out of the EU by 29th March this year. Despite this they still have little wish to take UK out of the EU, so their chances are pretty dead in the upcoming general election. This probably leaves Farage's Brexit party or Corbyn's Labour party as the only two parties who could try and form a government. If Labour gets in then Brexit would pretty much be cancelled if globalists get their way. Labour leader Corbyn is anti-EU and heavily critical of the Zionist government and globalist policies generally, but at the same time many globalists still sit for the Labour party in Parliament because they are the leftovers from the time when Blair and Brown ran the party. So in the coming weeks expect big pressure and extreme tactics by corporate medias, globalist politicians within Corbyn's party and whoever else in a desperate attempt to oust him as leader in time before the new election, so that they can try and install their own choice.

Merkel Unretires: Chancellor Determined To Remain In Power Until 2021
More at: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-05-28/merkel-unretires-chancellor-determined-remain-power-until-2021-succession-plan
The CDU's abysmal showing in last week's EU Parliamentary election marked the party's worst result ever in a national election. And apparently, the the loss of the CDU/CSU's position as the largest party in the bloc's largest legislative body was the last straw for Chancellor Angela Merkel, who reportedly regrets her decision to step aside as party leader last year - a decision she made to clear the way for her chosen successor, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, or AKK.
According to media reports, Merkel is so frustrated with AKK over a series of missteps by the new CDU party leader that the chancellor has decided to withdraw her political support, throwing her well-laid succession plans into disarray.
Merkel's determination that AKK is not 'up to the job' of being chancellor comes as AKK and others within the CDU have pressured Merkel to step down early to give AKK a better shot at securing a full term in 2021.
Though her ability to influence the party is limited now that she has handed over control of the party's machinery, Merkel can still throw a massive wrench in the works by deciding to spend no more political capital helping AKK, whose chances of winning the chancellorship are fading.
Merkel's decision to withdraw support for her erstwhile protege is the latest sign that the longtime German leader is determined to stay on as Chancellor at least until her term ends in 2021, despite growing pressure from AKK and others within the party to step aside before the vote. The latest conflict between the two women erupted after AKK called an impromptu party conference next week to examine the CDU's poor showing in the EU vote, a meeting that' sure to produce some awkward encounters between Merkel and AKK.
And who knows? If the acrimony between the two female conservative leaders continues to intensify, Merkel may yet change her mind and decide to seek an unprecedented fifth term in office. She certainly has the popularity to make a credible go at it.
Even if she doesn't actively campaign for AKK, Merkel has plenty of incentive to quit while she's ahead. Not only was the CDU pummeled during the last two national elections, but AKK’s approval rating recently slipped three points to 36%, according to broadcaster ARD. That's the lowest since she became CDU party leader, and almost 20 points behind Merkel. AKK's standing has been hurt by a series of gaffes, including an off-color joke about transsexuals that alienated many moderates. Adding insult to injury, as the CDU's popularity wanes, support for the progressive Greens has surged, with the party doubling its vote share to 20% last week compared with the 2014 EU Parliamentary elections.

China using rare earths in US trade war http://on.ft.com/2I4RTOH
Here's an archived link http://archive.is/h0T4b
meh.... not much of an economic weapon.
China currently exports very few rare earths directly to the US. Intermediate products containing rare earths metals go through a long production chain, mostly in China and Japan. Washington has identified the exports as a vulnerability and exempted the material from its tarriffs.
Rare earths capture the attention of security strategists but in practice would be difficult to wield as a weapon. China first imposed export quotas on rare earths more than a decade ago, but dropped the quotas in 2015 after losing a case at the World Trade Organization.
It is not clear how it would regulate trade in intermediate or downstream products. The problem for China is that any new restrictions would cause damage to its recently developed industrial supply chains, which are dependent on foreign customers in the US, Europe and Japan.
Any restriction would reinforce the notion that China was a risky source of supply.
Three state-owned mining firms have wrestled for control over the rich deposits around Ganzhou, in south-central China. Companies mining or processing rare earths in Ganzhou recorded RMB26bn in revenue in 2018, according to the NDRC.

Hospitals in Idlib have been targeted by the Syrian regime to drive out civilians from the country's last rebel-held city.

Sky News has seen first-hand evidence that hospitals in Idlib are being targeted by Syrian regime forces who also appear to be using banned cluster bombs as they rachet up their bombardment of the last rebel stronghold in the country.
Obliterating the medical centres cuts crucial lifelines for civilians caught up in the fighting as Syrian regime forces battle with rebel groups for control of the final opposition area.
Deliberately attacking medical facilities and civilian areas is deemed a war crime under international law.

https://news.yahoo.com/petition-calling-impeachment-south-koreas-moon-force-response-101513449.html
A petition calling for South Korean President Moon Jae-in to be impeached had gathered more than 217,000 signatures as of Monday, passing a threshold that will require a government response and underscoring Moon's sagging approval ratings. The author of the online petition has not been identified but says he or she is a citizen who took part in candlelight protests in 2017 that helped lead to the impeachment and ouster of Moon's predecessor, Park Geun-hye.
"I think there's no problem for proposing impeachment of a president who acts against the national psyche," the petitioner wrote on a site for petitions that the presidential office, known as the Blue House, maintains on its web site.
The government has to respond to any petition that gathers more than 200,000 signatures.
The petitioner said Moon has condoned North Korea's nuclear development, human right problems and illegal transhipment of North Korean coal, while "acting nonsense" such as lowering the military guard while North Korea has its nuclear weapons.
A spokeswoman for the Blue House did not comment on the specifics of the petition, saying: "My understanding is that the Korean government or relevant official of the Blue House will answer in due course."
Some 44% of respondents in a Gallup Korea poll said Moon was doing a bad job, data showed on Friday, up more than four times the rate a year ago when his approval was at its highest after his first summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Among those respondents, 50% expressed frustration with Moon's economic policy, while 13% criticized his focus on North Korea and his North Korea-friendly policies.
Asia's fourth largest economy is struggling amid falling exports, low inflation, and high unemployment rates. Exports fell for a fifth month in April, while inflation has fallen below 1%. The unemployment rate rose to a three-month high in April.

Re: #27 - Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
Lieberman's party has been at odds with ultra-Orthodox parties Shas and United Torah Judaism, which won eight seats each, over a military conscription bill that would make it mandatory for Haredi men studying the Torah - currently exempt from service - to join Israel's armed forces.
Lieberman has long said that all Israeli men must equally share the burden of mandatory military service. Ultra-Orthodox parties, however, say seminary students should remain exempt from conscription, as they have been since Israel's founding in 1948.
"We have made our position clear since 2018: We will not agree to any change in the draft bill," Lieberman said at the news conference, adding that he did not want to be part of a "halakah [Jewish law] government".
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/lieberman-deals-blow-netanyahu-refusing-join-coalition
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urgently worked to break a deadlock in coalition negotiations Tuesday as the once far-fetched possibility of fresh general elections only months after April polls loomed ever larger.Netanyahu has until Wednesday night to reach a coalition deal, but he has been unable to convince ex-defence minister Avigdor Lieberman to abandon a key demand and allow a government to be formed.
Failing to do so would be a major setback for Netanyahu, and the stakes are especially high with the premier facing possible indictment for corruption in the months ahead.
The dispute hinges on Lieberman's demand that legislation he supports aimed at having ultra-Orthodox Jews perform mandatory military service like other Jewish Israelis be approved without changes.
The issue is highly sensitive in Israel and the legislation is opposed by ultra-Orthodox parties, who control 16 seats in parliament and are set to become a key member of Netanyahu's coalition.
Netanyahu faces the risk of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin opting to give the task of forming a new government to someone other than him.
If a deal is not reached by midnight Wednesday, Rivlin could give Netanyahu another two weeks if he concludes the premier is the only person capable of forming a government.
Alternatively, Rivlin could ask another member of parliament to take on the task.
Netanyahu is widely seen as preferring new elections rather than leaving the choice up to Rivlin due to the possibility someone else could be selected.
He could also seek to form a minority government.
