Right before COVID-19 hysteria there were several cities, in CZ, on the edge of flu epidemy. Something that happens every year. There were cities with 12k or even 18k cases of flu infections. Some of them already considered to ban visits in hospitals. Then, suddenly, COVID-19 popped out.
Common flu just disappeared. We went to partial lockdown and there are no informations about common flu anymore. Everything is COVID-19 now. What happened to the flu?

This statistics looks funny, but is wrong. In China you won't find paper at a toilet. Every Chinese has paper with him all the time. They use the same type of paper for wiping their nose, mouth and ass. Of course, they can use different types, but this is not common. In Germany we use paper to clean the nose and the ass, but rarely for the mouth and always different types. So to have better numbers, you would need the amount of paper in general, not specifically "toilet paper". By the way, the Chinese do this since the Tang dynasty, much longer, than any Western person. The exact amount of paper used by the imperial court is in the records.

Do you remember what I wrote just in the begining of all of this regarding US non-existent health care system? How it will collapse food industry as the most of workers are not paid enough so they can't effort good, or even any, health insurance? Well, here we are...

I saw a 'wave' of reports/accusations flow through the media in the last 24-36hrs
against China
accusing govt/authorities of racism against Africans specifically targeting them for lockdowns.
to the extent that the 'accusations' had reached leadership including Xi and was apologized for/regretted in public statement.
I assumed it was more 'incitement' by western media machines.

Because you have asked for my comment especially.
To make one thing clear, if not clear already: I am a German working in China, not a Chinese.
This all took me by surprise on my winter holiday in Cambodia. Now I am in Laos waiting for the lifting of the lock-down to return to my working place in China. I don't want to go to Germany or any other Western country right now, because I feel much more safe in Asia or especially in China.
Now to your question: Racism in China was and is rampant. I don't care, because I think in the West they exaggerate their political correctness. I agree with the Chinese and the Chinese government, that Wuhan was the first place, we saw the virus, but it is not the place of origin. It is a horrible insult for China to call this virus the "Chinese virus". They have taken the attack of the virus first and have succeeded and get all the blame. At the moment Chinais secure, but in the rest of the world the virus is still very dangerous. So China is afraid of letting in any foreigners. They have cancelled temporarily all tourist and working visa. Inside China they are lifting the lockdown. You can walk freely. The next problem is, that Chinese people use their smartphones permanently. There they have a lot of apps. One app for taxis, one for ordering food and now one for controlling where and how often they walk out in the open. Foreigners can down load and use these apps only, if they have a smartphone and if they can read and write Chinese fluently. And foreigners don't wear masks. Chinese people were wearing masks long before this virus. Every winter they wear masks, because it is cold. In polluted cities they are wearing masks against the pollution. When they are working in a room, that was painted recently, they are wearing masks. Masks are everywhere. Even before this virus they asked me: "Why don't you wear a mask?" Chinese in Europe are asking me: "Why do people look strangely or angrily, when they see us wearing a mask?" So at the moment they are horribly afraid of foreigners, because they think (correctly) foreigners can bring back the virus. To get integrated into Chinese society is nearly impossible. In my department I am the best or second best integrated. All the others are completely excluded. So from what you have posted, I would not say, China wants to label this virus "African virus" or "Negro virus". I still think, China wants to blame it on US or other international companies. In many cases Chinese people talk and act in a way, that would considered horribly racist in the West, but this is normal. I remember one TV-ad, that went viral on youtube. A producer of washing machines wanted to make clear, how good his machines are by pushing a black guy into the machine and putting a white guy out. I have talked with Chinese about this, they had no clue, that anyone could feel insulted. In the end the Chinese foreign minister apologized. But no Chinese understood why.

One more point: Chinese people would say: "What is he complaining about? We were locked in in exactly the same way." So no difference in treatment.
