2020 US Election Thread
It looks to be a tough choice this time between the turd-sandwich in the red corner and the shit-burger in the blue corner. Either the anti-establishment elitist who will work tirelessly on the behalf of his voters to enrich himself and his family whilst preserving the status quo of protecting other elites, banksters and criminals in high places. Or the democratic anti-democrat who if he's not busy sniffing kids will be doing next to nothing to reign in economic inequality, powerful corporations or banksters.

Necessary to consider when looking at national polls that show Biden is ahead in vote % share it is not necessary indicative that he is ahead in reality. Case in point: Hillary won the popular vote by 2% in the 2016 election but still lost the Presidency because the winner is not elected by popular vote but by electoral college votes - the first past the post system that each state employs.
From a statistician he says it's only likely Biden will win the Presidency by being at least 3% ahead of Trump.
Chance of a Biden Electoral college win if he wins the popular vote by X points:
— Nate Silver (@NateSilver538) September 2, 2020
0-1 points: just 6%!
1-2 points: 22%
2-3 points: 46%
3-4 points: 74%
4-5 points: 89%
5-6 points: 98%
6-7 points: 99%

The main reason for my wish to change this society is that so many human skills have no chance to come to fruition. Instead they are used in a really sick way so that people are maintaining their own suffering from wars, hunger and illness. But it can not be changed "top-down", only in some kind of "grassroots revolution" or better "evolution" where more and more people work together to get rid of TPTB (whoever that is).
No need for a "big event" but development. One of my ideas to reach it: Don't play "their" games - don't use "their" rules - don't think in the box of "their" paradigms.
It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.
That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".

They are thoughtfully saving some people the trouble of having to participate in such a farce I guess.
But really such poorly organized elections (voter suppression) have been like this in the USA for time immemorial. It just happens to be getting worse now. It's a symptom of the fact that USA was never the country that it often claims to be, that of freedom, democracy, equal justice.

An average taken from a collection of the latest polls has Biden at 50.5% and Trump at 43%. That's a +7.5% advantage for Biden. So according to the statistician's post above, if such result was repeated on election day it would give Biden >99% chance of securing enough electoral college votes to become the new President.
