This town has different names in different languages (Zarigrad is nice. Miklagard of the Varangians is also nice. The name Istanbul only tells us, that the Turks were fooled by the Greeks. lol!

I prefer Βυζαντιον). So, this is no problem.

But the Bosporos has only one name and it has a meaning. There is a long story connected to it. So I do not understand, why the English make this mistake (and change the meaning by doing this).
