I think it's related to Navalny's movie about Putin's "tycoon mension" released in recent days...

Nationwide Dementiafest
"Now everyone has forgotten who Joe Biden is, including Joe Biden."
https://caitlinjohnstone.com/2021/01/23/nationwide-dementiafest-notes-from-the-edge-of-the-narrative-matrix/
Joe Biden. Joe Biden. Joe fucking fucking motherfucking Biden. In a country of 328 million people the guy that gets elevated to the top is literally one of the very worst human beings in the entire population. That’s the “democracy” you’re being told is under attack.
And this isn’t even prime Joe Biden. This is coming out of retirement for a half-assed exhibition match Joe Biden. This is way past sell-by date Joe Biden. This is Joe Biden with missing pieces. That’s the sort of animal that rises to the highest elected office in US “democracy”.
The inauguration was a whole internet of liberals performing amazing mental contortions to forget that Joe Biden is a disgusting piece of shit. Now everyone has forgotten who Joe Biden is, including Joe Biden. A nationwide dementiafest.
❖
Obama campaigned on Hope and Change and delivered nothing but neoliberal oppression and imperialist mass murder. Biden campaigned on “Fuck you, no” and people think he’s somehow going to deliver something positive.
People are so cute.
Joe Biden would be the absolute dead worst Democratic primary candidate if he runs, far worse than any of the other corporate whores they've got lined up. Overall there's no reason to believe he'd be any better than the current asshole in the White House.
— Caitlin Johnstone (@caitoz) April 10, 2019
You can do it Democrats! Just two years of stalling progressive change before you lose the House and Senate and can start claiming the lack of progress is due to an obstructionist congress!
❖
I still can’t get over the fact that Dems consciously chose not to give Americans the amount of money they said they would. They discussed it, then said “Nah. Too much. Subtract that $600 from before.”
❖
Leftist: There’s been a bombing!
Liberal: Oh no! Where??
Leftist: The Middle East and Africa mostly. Our government drops bombs there every day.
Liberal: Ohh thank God. I thought you meant a bombing of real people.
❖
Ask people if they believe all lives are of equal value regardless of where in the world they live and how much money they have, and most will tell you yes. But if you look at their worldviews and the lives those worldviews tend to snuff out, for most the real answer would be no.
The majority of the people who rightly say Black lives matter give zero fucks about the people of color who are being butchered by the US empire in the Global South right now. Mass media punditry trains people to only values the lives in their own part of the world.
❖
Being an anti-imperialist in this society is like being the black sheep of the family who never gets invited to holiday dinners because she always brings up the fact that Uncle Larry is a child molester.
Days that Biden has chosen not to honor his campaign promise of ending US support for the mass atrocities in Yemen: pic.twitter.com/JuFNvuYCX1
— Caitlin Johnstone (@caitoz) January 22, 2021
Every day Biden chooses not to move on ending the war in Yemen translates directly into many more dead children. This is not an exaggeration, it is a fact. It requires much, much more urgency than it’s getting.
❖
Trump’s actions in Yemen alone make him a monster whose name should only be spoken with disgust. If you abhor Obama for his warmongering there’s no legitimate reason not to abhor Trump as well.
❖
Trump was none of the things Democrats said he was and none of the things Republicans said he was and all of the things they both are.
❖
There are already at least three likely 2024 presidential candidates against whom the Democratic candidate would be the lesser evil: Mike Pompeo, Nikki Haley, and Tom Cotton. This system is designed to feed you an endless river of evil so that you are floating in evil all the time no matter how you vote.
They're so full of glee I can only assume the inauguration features a mountain of dead Middle Eastern children somewhere. pic.twitter.com/VBTpcrKnLF
— Caitlin Johnstone (@caitoz) January 20, 2021
The way to stop the rise of right wing extremism and conspiracy theories is to end government corruption and government secrecy, not to implement authoritarian measures under the banner of fighting terrorism. This is obvious to everyone who isn’t an idiot.
❖
To stop fascism they’ll roll out Patriot Act 2, secretly implement more FBI programs, surveil, censor, militarize, anything except change the conditions which feed into the rise of fascism.
Because their rule depends upon those conditions.
And because they’re fine with fascism.
❖
Socialists who promote socialism using esoteric leftist jargon that ordinary people don’t understand aren’t really interested in promoting socialism. It’s just a nerdy hobby for them. They’re the same as Star Trek nerds speaking Klingon.
❖
One advantage the far right has over us is that the mainstream consent-manufacturing shitlib culture that is churned out 24/7 by Hollywood is so plainly artificial and cringey. The left needs to fight back by creating culture, real culture, authentic art and media that moves something deep in people, and by rejecting the establishment’s conveyor belt culture instead of just its politics.
This is why something as simple as Bernie Sanders turning up in mittens captured everyone’s hearts and imaginations (https://www.thrillist.com/entertainment/nation/bernie-sanders-mittens-meme-inauguration-2021 ). It was such a glitch in the whole phony performance and such a nice break from being lied to all the fucking time. We need to give people that experience way more.
Trust in the plutocratic media is at an all-time low (https://www.axios.com/media-trust-crisis-2bf0ec1c-00c0-4901-9069-e26b21c283a9.html ) and our ability to network and share information is at an all-time high. We absolutely do have a window to wake each other up from the propaganda and create a healthy world. But internet censorship is creeping forward, so means it must be soon.

A thread by Bryan MacDonald
Navalny protests: You'll see a lot of video/images & spin today (from both sides), a lot of it selectively edited/framed/angled. Think raw numbers of protesters (vs. size of cities) most interesting metric of support levels for the jailed opposition figure. Will keep count here. Note that in vast majority of cities, (to varying degrees, depending on local police/political attitudes), Navalny supporters are likely to face arrest. The rallies are illegal (they have no permits & most regions have a legal ban on mass gatherings, due to the Covid pandemic)
Taking figures, where possible, from @kommersant, a respected Moscow newspaper which is slightly opposition leaning, but not virulently anti-Kremlin, by any means.
State news agencies will likely underestimate, and opposition outlets will overestimate. That's the usual pattern
In far-eastern Khabarovsk, over 200 marched. For context, city has 600,000 people & up to around 50-60,000 (Western media said 100,000) turned out in support of local governor Sergey Furgal (from far right LDPR), last summer. About 40 were arrested. Reports that in the region of 3,000 people have gathered in Vladivostok, the pacific port city (population also circa 600,000). 10-20 detained. Vladivostok is prone to protest & is "close" to Korea & Japan, but that's a much larger number than Khabarovsk. Notable. In Yakutsk (where it is minus 51 degrees & 311,000 live), 50 came out to back Navalny. Around 40% of them were detained. Yakutsk elected an opposition mayor a few years ago. Numbers not huge, but the weather conditions hardly conducive to hanging around outside. Meanwhile, over in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (home to 179,000), more then 200 gathered. The police have not arrested anyone, @kommersant reports. In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, which is "not far" from Japan, 400 took part in the local pro-Navalny rally, with 10 detained. The city has 190,000 residents. Another credible source @ru_rbc, says @kommersant's Vladivostok count is wrong (it did look a bit much), and the actual crowd was around 1,000. Not 3,000. (https://www.rbc.ru/rbcfreenews/600bc2f29a7947365eec2369?from=from_main_3 ) Moving into Siberia, “several thousand” came out in Irkutsk, a city of 620,000 souls. Local media reports that there were no arrests and it was peaceful. (https://irk.today/2021/01/23/nesankcionirovannaja-akcija-v-irkutske-23-janvarja-proshla-bez-stolknovenij/ ) Over in Krasnoyarsk, an important city with a population of more than 1 million, just over 1,000 took to the streets to support Navalny. Some were detained. With 1.6 million residents, Novosibirsk is Siberia’s largest city, and a vital bell weather for interest in Navalny outside the capital. Around 4,500 protested on his behalf. Around 60 of those were detained.

"Ah ha, Biden already sent back all those troops Trump sent home!" No dipshit, the troops were still there. Trump just moved them around a bit. He ended zero wars and completed zero troop withdrawals.

now we routinely violate the separation between Langley (foreign) and FBI (domestic).
Remember the days when this was considered DANGEROUS? a STRATEGIC THREAT to US National Security???
We're so much smarter now.

Re: #68 - Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
Bringing together the US emergency bank lending crisis and the now massive Covid response,
I’ve concluded that one of the main reasons it is happening, apart from the corporate looting,
is because of a historic event, the USA’s economic collapse and the dollar’s demise,
which started just weeks before this Covid operation kicked off,
and has been put on hold by a world wide manufactured economic ‘freeze’.
A few months before Covid appeared, the Fed were busy pouring literally trillions of dollars into the US banks,
to prevent inter-lending bank-runs which were starting to develop.
These were the same tectonic fissures that developed prior to the 2008 crisis,
where the banks became so distrustful of each other’s solvency, that they massively increased interest rates
to each other to factor in the risk. If unsuppressed the lending rates would continue to rise,
laying a path to bank failures and a contagion which would eventually derail the economy and undermine the dollar itself.

Excellent documentary by @BrianMteleSUR and @mfox_us showing how the US government fueled the rise of the far-right in Brazil, which has gutted workers' rights with the backing of big businesshttps://t.co/cVVVfXscmz
It's exactly how & what they intended for Bolivia. I'm so PROUD of the Bolivians for stopping them.
