"For those who do not know. The Baltic countries are Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The whole world is silent. But in Latvia and Estonia since 1991, the apartheid regime has been introduced against local Russians.
In Latvia, about 40% are Russians, in the capital Riga, 50% are Russians.
In Estonia, about 30% are Russians, in the capital Tallinn (the old Russian name for the city of Kolyvan), 50% are Russians.
There are cities where Russians make up more than 80-90%.  

Apartheid
So 30 years ago, local Russians were deprived of their citizenship. They were given non-citizen passports with Alien on the cover.
These documents strike people in dozens of different civil and political rights. They cannot vote or be elected.
They cannot engage in dozens of professions in the civil service. But at the same time they are obliged to pay taxes ...
Their native Russian language is recognized as a foreign language in Latvia and Estonia.
Despite the fact that there are more Russians in Latvia & Estonia than there are Francophones in Canada.  

To understand the tragedy of apartheid in the Baltics, I will give you an analogy with other countries, where, like in Latvia and Estonia, there are 2 or more large communities. Everyone knows that in Canada there are two large communities of Anglophones and Francophones. Imagine that in 1991 the Anglophones monopolized power and named the Francophones occupiers in Canada and stripped all Francophones of Canadian citizenship. And together they gave them passports of non-citizens. For which francophone have no rights other than paying taxes and low-paying jobs. French is recognized as a foreign language in Canada. All French schools and kindergartens are gradually being translated into English, where most of the subjects are in English. French universities are banned. If a Francophon wants to become a Canadian citizen, then he must go through a humiliating procedure. Pass exams in English and Canadian history, where you need to say that France and the French are occupiers in Canada. That is, you need to abandon your ancestors. Then he can become a second-class citizen of Canada.

In Lithuania, the situation is different. There are relatively few Russians there.

NSW is bracing for another rise in Covid-19 cases today after a record rise yesterday and a state of emergency being declared.

According to a source quoted by the Daily Telegraph, troops may be brought in to guard barriers set up around Sydney as the Government works to “harden the lockdown” and ensure safe travel out of “hot zones”.
