Scholz can pay for gas as long as he (ECB) is printing euros. because russian gas is costing him some ink and paper. the moment EU has to buy rubles the cost is different. and that is a reason why (((they))) do not want to pay in rubles. basically EU (ECB) has defaulted. euro is worthless and financial system is going down. whole financial system based of petro $. this is the end of printing money and buying peace in country with money printing. now the consequences are going to have to be paid. there is going to be millions of unemployed germans with worthless currency. and millions of immigrants whose government assistance programs has stooped or has been made worthless. and to make it all more interesting lots of guns coming from Ukraine.

On 30 March, the US issued a fresh round of sanctions against an Iranian man and several of his companies
based on allegations that he is behind the procurement of supplies for Iran’s ballistic missile program.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stated on 31 March that these new sanctions
prove that the US has “ill intent and malice” towards the Iranian nation.
The Vienna talks have been put on hold recently for an undetermined period of time,
in spite of hints that these negotiations were in their ‘final stages.’

The PAYMENT ultimately is in Roubles (per Putin decree).

Some of the already paid gas contracts extend until May, so no immediate threat to Europe gas supplies necessarily.
I wonder what the odds are that Ukraine Gov in the next week or two suddenly puts forward some serious, comprehensive proposals to end the conflict? Or is that fanciful thinking and instead the EU Govs will settle for the ruble-for-gas thing (either directly or via Gazprombank with premium added).

Re: #93 - Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
With little notice, billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch and the conservative dark-money juggernaut
they built have become some of Google’s strongest backers, coming to the company’s aid as it navigates the storm
engulfing Big Tech in Washington and beyond.
The remarkable confluence of interests between two entities that long inhabited opposite ends of the political
spectrum has funneled millions to a roster of conservative and libertarian policy groups, all working to protect Google
and its profits from regulation. This little-noticed alliance of convenience has also seen Google lend its support
to a long list of conservative groups that take positions antithetical to the vast majority of its outspoken,
and mostly liberal, workforce, from climate change denial to opposition to gun control.
In August 2017, for example, top executives at the Charles Koch Institute and Engine, a Google-funded surrogate,
wrote an opinion piece for The Hill arguing that legal immunity for internet platforms was essential
to tech innovation. The issue is one of Google’s top policy priorities,
with multibillion dollar implications for its bottom line.
And in September 2019, Americans for Prosperity, the Koch family’s political advocacy arm, released ads urging state
attorneys general “not to politicize” antitrust probes of tech companies. “The Charles Koch Institute
and Foundation are a thoughtful partner and we are happy to work with them,” Engine’s Evan Engstrom said,
as the groups joined forces to lobby on data privacy legislation.
Engstrom, who has close ties to Google, is just one of a cast of characters who helped forge this unlikely alliance.
A key, and little-noticed role also appears to have been played by a British public relations executive,
whose surprising personal ties helped bridge the Google-Koch divide.
Rachel Whetstone was promoted to a top public policy job at Google in 2011,
following stints working in the Conservative Party in the U.K.
Three decades earlier, her grandfather, Antony Fisher—described as “the Johnny Appleseed of the free-market movement”
—founded what would become Atlas Network. The nonprofit, designed to encourage the proliferation of free-market think tanks,
now supports nearly 500 groups around the world.
Whetstone’s personal and professional connections seem to have come together as Google sought to bolster
its ties with conservatives in the wake of a disastrous 2011 Senate appearance by Google’s former chief
executive Eric Schmidt, who faced hostile grilling from Republicans. In 2012, the company made the first
of what would become annual donations to Atlas Network, where Whetstone’s mother serves as chairman of the board.
The Koch network gained notoriety for underwriting a conservative revolution across America. But with its tech investments, the Kochs started to send some of their millions to tech-focused, centrist and even left-leaning groups that have been longtime allies of Google. By one estimate, the Kochs have quietly spent more than $10 million to defend the search giant and other tech companies from policy threats in Washington.12
For Google, there are clear benefits to collaborating with the Koch network.
The Kochs’ influence with conservatives has helped Google navigate a new Washington,
one where the ties it forged with the Democratic establishment during the Obama years
are less valuable than they had been.
Less clear is what the Kochs get out of their relationship with Google.
The infusion of Google’s millions has been welcomed by the Kochs’
network of libertarian advocates and activists. The Kochs also have their own technology interests to protect.
Beyond their recent investments in the sector, any regulation of Google and Facebook,
for example, would also seemingly apply to i360, the Kochs’ own political data mining company.

It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.

The Russian leader said money would be paid into Gazprom Bank, which is not a subject of sanctions,
and then transferred in rubles to Russia, according to a German statement.
Germany's government said on Wednesday it has received assurances from Russia that Europe
would not have to pay for Russian gas supplies in rubles.
Olaf Scholz's office said Russian President Vladimir Putin told the German Chancellor Europe could continue paying in euros
In a phone call with Scholz, Putin said the money would be paid into Gazprom Bank and then transferred in rubles to Russia,
according to a German statement. The bank is not currently subject to sanctions.
"Scholz did not agree to this procedure in the conversation, but asked for written information to better understand the procedure,"
a German spokesperson said.
Putin had said last week that "unfriendly" countries would have to pay for Russian gas in rubles.
According to Russian news agency Tass, Putin told Scholz Russia's demands for ruble payments were justified
"by the fact that, in violation of the norms of international law, the foreign exchange reserves of the Bank of Russia were frozen
by the member states of the European Union."
G7 countries rejected the demand to pay for gas in rubles saying would breach contracts.
Germany on Wednesday triggered an emergency plan to manage gas supplies
that could see Europe's largest economy ration power if a standoff over a Russian demand
to pay for fuel with roubles disrupts or halted supplies.
So, Putin was bluffing or what?
Oh God please have mercy, and this retard is chancellor...
No, Russia still requires to be paid in Rubles, but since Germany can't buy Rubles in the FOREX market or directly from the Russian central bank because of "sanctions", Gazprom bank will accept Euro deposits which will be run through a conversion rate, much like when I go on holiday in Croatia and want to withdraw money from my EC card account, the ATM will spit out Croatian Kuna according to that days conversion rate, even though my own account is in Euros.. if I want a recept it costs 5 Euros extra.. what Scholz doesn't seem to understand is that since the Ruble is pegged to Gold now the Ruble will become significantly higher in value compared to Euros and Dollars and that has happened pretty much immediately, therefore our Euros will buy less and less Gas and Oil.. I am busy trying to buy a few Ruble banknotes and some collectable Silver Ruble ounces right now, the prices are already hillarious, so I am trying to make a few bargains by buying items and 1997 banknotes at todays conversion rate., the problem is the scarcity of Rubles in Germany lol. The 5000RUB per gram of Gold window closes June 30, after that Bank of Russia could decide to peg it at 1000, then at a later time at 500 and eventually at 50, ha ha.. then Russia could nationalize Bank of Russia and kick out the parasites that "loan" currency to the state.. but one thing is crystal clear, the Ruble will be more stable and valuable then the Swiss Franc. What it doesn't mean is that Ruble banknotes will be redeemable for Gold, it doesn't need to, since Russia is a resource rich nation, it just decided to win the economic war by using this leverage of being a main provider of spectacularly important resource materials. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, this move of pegging the Ruble to Gold will detonate all of the Gold ETF surpression schemes of the West and their institutions, you ain't seen nothing yet, I still recommend to buy Silver, it's reevaluation will be mindblowing percentage wise.. better hurry up to grab some if you haven't already.

"Freedom fries"
Freedom fries was a politically motivated renaming for French fries in the United States.
The term was created in February 2003 in a North Carolina restaurant, and was widely publicized
a month later when the then Republican Chairman of the Committee
on House Administration, Bob Ney, renamed the menu item in three Congressional cafeterias.
The political renaming occurred in context of France's opposition to the proposed invasion of Iraq.
