Regarding history, it was one of my worst subjects, and our teacher was more of a storyteller. Most of what was in the list was certainly not told in class. I can only remember roughly, something with Mesopotamia and Sumerians, Egypt, Greeks and "333", Romans, then the Frankish Empire with Charlemagne and then a lot of back and forth in Central Europe. I have only a certain idea that the Merovingians might *NOT* have fought against the Habsburgs. 

Thank you for correcting it, for me History remains an endless sequence of beating each other up.

Then I have to leak a secret to you.
This is made intentionally so: an endless sequence of stories. That is, what the people, who are in power, want you to believe.

1: This is called linear history. This idea goes back originally to the Greeks and Jews and was made mandatory at schools and universities at around 1700 in the protestant states. But this is not true. History comes in cycles or circles. This is called cyclical history and is considered outdated. History is repeating itself in endless cycles. This becomes visible, when you start reading about Classical Antiquity (Rome and Greece) or Egypt or China. All these cultures are self-sufficient. Everything develops and goes down within the same cycle. Between the cycles is a loss of memory.
If you want to read more about this: Oswald Spengler: Der Untergang des Abendlandes (Downfall of the West). I do not agree with everything he says, but this is the general idea. Or more modern: André Gunder Frank: Re-Orient (about huge oeconomic cycles).

2: You need a world map. The whole world is like a chess board. If someone is making a move in one corner of the board, the whole board is affected. Even, if the whole board is not known to them, who are doing the move. This is important to know, because the Roman and Chinese emperors did not exchange letters and did not inform their colleagues about their actions. And there is no player. You can either say: God is playing (Hegel did so) or History is playing herself. That is why Hegel is considered an enemy of the open society, because he understood the whole development in history.

The powers behind the curtain want to hide this from you, because they want you to believe in progress. But progress is just their huge ponzi scheme. And they don't want you to question their power.
