Sudanese authorities have approved a deal to build a naval base for the Russian Navy in Port Sudan
which will house 300 Russian sailors and up to four ships, including those with nuclear engines.
The base will expand Russia’s capabilities near the strategic Suez Canal. Russia will receive a port with quick access to the Indian Ocean.
In exchange, Moscow will supply Sudan with weapons.

Egypt's parliament approved an agreement this month to join the BRICS New Development Bank.
Egypt also sent a letter to all BRICS states formally requesting membership in the extended BRICS+ alliance,
