Never was N95 designed for everyday use for hours. It was used as a stopgap solution for a limited time to lower mortality rate of ebola outbreak responders. It is not suitable as a solution for long term use in everyday environment. Or to put it simply, N95 is not a problem, it is acutely very good mask. People recommending to wear N95 for days on end are the problem.
