A message reaches the Israelis via their phones:
“Welcome to the minefield “Gaza welcomes you”
You will return "either dead, captured, or disabled."
Gaza is waiting for you”

There are very few reports of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza at the moment. I scanned a couple of live streams and couldn't see much activity. Relative lull at the moment.

Tonight #Iran’s foreign minister met #Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in #Qatar after Hamas killed Jews, including American citizens, & is holding them hostage. Qatar, which harbors & funds Hamas, is acting like a state-sponsor of terrorism, just like Tehran. pic.twitter.com/30HCkUvqIg

- It is totally silent in Gaza. Some would call this "the calm before the storm."
- Israeli strikes against Rafah in southern Gaza.
As of 2:45am UK time (01:45 GMT), had the livestream on for the last couple of hours and the bombing has been picking up.
EDIT: 3:45am UK time and the bombing has been constant for the last hour.

Egypt has refused to let US Nationals leave Gaza through Rafah.
Egyptian Authorities are refusing to let US nationals leave Gaza unless the US forces Israel to accept the Rafah Border Crossing be a designated aid crossing where Egyptian and International Aid can be brought to Gaza.
The situation is clear.
No aid allowed to pass = No US or European foreigner can leave.
This is a massive pressure on Western leaders, where, simply, they can choose to let the Palestinian people live and receive aid, or they can watch their own citizens be bombed by their greatest ally.

Back online however whether the feeds are for real or not one wouldn't know they can loop old footage,

Re: Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
Hezbollah kicked their butts the last time around and Iran has warned of intervention.
Israel is ready to use nukes against Iran, (Allegedly they almost used them against Iraq during the Gulf war) but at what cost to them? There would be global condemnation and a high chance of world war.
"Israel" is nothing but a bunch of religious extremists with undeclared nukes.
And what of Turkey? NATO will lose Turkey first and foremost as a NATO member: it's always been rocky there anyway.
Syria: The Russians and US have been a hairs breadth from fighting, what with "road rage" and faux dogfights, could be another tipping point.
I think we're at the brink now. The "American century" is at an end. They either learn to co-operate or go with a Scorched Earth scenario.
Drunken rant over. I highly recommend Baileys, also Sheridans - both Irish liqueurs which I have enjoyed for the last three decades.
