I don't understand, what Putin is explaining, but I would like to agree with him. Non-the-less it is difficult to construct historical narratives. What is "Rus"?
During the Middle Ages, there was a state or a confederation called the Kievan Rus, that stretched from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. This state was conquered by the Mongols of the Golden Horde. When the Mongols got weaker, two powers were collecting the earth of the Rus (is there a Russian expression for this?): the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Principiality of Moskow. These two powers were in constant conflict. During the Great Northern War (c. 1700) the Polish together with the Swedes and Saxons were fighting with the Moskovites over the areas, that are now "Ukraine". Zar Peter the Great defeated the Swedes, Poles and Saxons at Poltawa. At around 1770 Catharine the Great finally got access to the Black Sea by defeating the Tatars and Ottomans. In 1815 during the Congress of Vienna Russia finally could even occupy Poland. Unfortunately after WW I Poland was re-established.

The Poles and the Zelensky regime in Kiev have a complete different historical narrative. Kiev claims to be in succession of the "Kievan Rus" and the Tatars.
So again, what is the "Kievan Rus"? What does "collecting Russian earth" mean? Who is the rightful successor of the Kievan Rus? There are conflicting historical narratives.
And this is only one aspect. I don't even talk about the re-conquest of Constantinople (One Moskovite prince married a Palaiologa, the heiress of the Byzantine Empire. That's why they call themselves "Zar", Caesar, Emperor of Constantinople.)

1st: I do not understand, what reasons he is giving. Actually I wanted to provoke an answer from Milla or Zod, who understand Russian.
2nd: The Polish use the Scythians as their ancestors in their narrative. It is called the Sarmatian theory.

For a reasonably well-informed Germans, what MSM and the regime are saying only sounds like the ramblings of someone in a drug frenzy. BILD also looked into the future and "saw" an attack by Russia on Europe until the US elections. Madhouse is a euphemism for what is happening here today.
