The night before today's special EU summit
thousands of farmers with agricultural delegations from France, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Portugal camped in front of my workplace in Brussels. The city is standing still, already 230 kilometers of traffic jams at 8 o'clock in the morning. It's good that I'm still sleeping at this time…

As far as the EU is concerned, the outside and the inside world are obviously no longer in any useful relationship to each other: while more than 1,300 tractors are blocking the European Parliament and its now burning forecourt outside, the 27 heads of state inside have not even put the anger of the farmers on their agenda.
