Israeli security help settlers target Gaza aid trucks – The report Guardian

Israeli security forces are reportedly tipping off far-right activists and settlers about the locations of aid trucks to Gaza, allowing them to block and vandalize the convoys.

A spokesperson from the main Israeli activist group behind the blockades confirmed that settlers are receiving this information from police and military members.  

The Guardian reviewed messages from internal chat groups and gathered accounts from witnesses and human rights activists supporting these claims.

Germany coup plotters stand trial

The self-declared Prince Heinrich XIII and other high-profile suspects, including ex-military officers, went on trial Tuesday for allegedly plotting to overthrow the German government.

The case, which shocked Germany in late 2022, involves over two dozen suspects and 260 witnesses and is expected to continue until 2025. The group, part of the Reichsbürger movement, allegedly planned to install Heinrich XIII as the new leader and restore the pre-World War I German Empire. Among the accused are Heinrich XIII's Russian girlfriend and Birgit Malsack-Winkemann, a judge and former lawmaker with the far-right Alternative for Germany party.

Prosecutors claim they intended to storm the Reichstag, arrest lawmakers, and display a chained-up Chancellor Olaf Scholz on television to gain public support.

Small anti-aircraft artillery is returning to the Israeli army after 20 years.

The threat from Lebanese drones on Israel's northern border led the IDF to purchase large numbers of Vulcan multi-barrel guns and mount them on armored personnel carriers to combat Hezbollah drones along the Lebanese border. The Israelis believe that, combined with a new radar station, these systems will become the most effective means of countering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Previously, such systems were already used in Israel, but were written off in 2005 as unnecessary. We are talking about “Khovet” (American M163 VADS with “Vulcan”) and “Mahbet” (with a container with “Stingers”). The system showed some effectiveness in the fight against Syrian aviation, but it was already outdated for destroying aircraft. Instead, the division, armed with the M163, received a modern missile defense system (BMD).

Now a new threat has emerged: Hezbollah drones.  
They are large enough and long-range, but at the same time cheap enough to shoot down an F-16 or Apache for each one. So far they are being shot down with missiles that cost 300 thousand dollars, but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of them in Lebanon, and that kind of money is not enough. Therefore, the Jews remembered the long-decommissioned Vulcans.

The main problem for them will be to find a normal radar and fire control system, as well as provide protection against anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) and FPV systems. If the system works at the border, it will become a priority target for everyone. But this problem is common to us, to Jews, and to everyone else.

In the USSR and Russia there are more effective systems, such as Shilki, 2-23 and the fabulous MKS-107, which was launched in a small series. “Pantsir” is, of course, beautiful, but it is quite difficult to cover every oil refinery with it.
