Why is Ireland destroying itself?

We're in Ireland studying their immigration policy. It’s like looking at a car crash—it’s terrible, but we can’t stop from staring.

The government here has gone mad. It’s bringing in hundreds of thousands of migrants.

It’s a country with just five million people, but one fifth of the population is now are foreign-born. Today we learned about the village of Dundrum, in County Tipperary.

There’s just 175 people in Dundrum, a village that has been there for centuries. But the government just announced—with no consultation, no discussion, no appeal—that they are moving 280 migrants into the town. That’s nearly going to triple the population overnight.

They’re transforming Dundrum’s main tourist attraction, a gorgeous country estate, into a refugee camp. That’s where they’re all going to stay.

Dundrum has been an Irish village for centuries. Now it’s going to be another thing—Palestinian, or Afghan, or something else. But it won’t really be Irish in language, culture or history anymore, will it?

We came here because of a riot yesterday at another planned refugee centre, this one in Dublin. The government wants to turn an abandoned paint factory into a hostel for 500 migrant men. It’s right across the street from a plaza with children’s movie theatres, games rooms and restaurants, a place where kids and teenagers hang out.

Now there will be 500 migrant men lounging around there, too. Again: no consultation, no appeal, nothing.

So yesterday the local population fought back—in dramatic fashion. They burned down some of the equipment being used to remodel the factory into a refugee camp. Police attacked with pepper spray, arresting 15. It was a fiasco.

The Irish state broadcaster tried to find a single resident in Coolock who supports this scheme; they couldn’t find one. But the government is dead-set on it.

What is going on in Ireland? Why do they hate themselves this way? They’re the Indigenous people there—they didn’t conquer anyone or colonize anyone or enslave anyone.

Why are they trying to destroy themselves? I still don’t know the answer. But I know one thing: Canada must not follow in this path.

I spent some time over there in the 90's and got to know the Irish a little. I was amazed when they allowed the smoking ban to happen, let alone this ffs.

to summarize, russian federation is not in the "war" (some kind of conflict) with general population in the "west". on the contrary, general population in the west is either neutral or sympathetic for the reasons russian federation has in the war (SMO) in Ukraine. and general population in the "west" is against persons who are pushing the "west" in the war against russian federation. And that is a major reason (maybe even the only one) why NATO is still not officially engaged in Ukraine.

A statistically significant amount (considering the general population) of the people who are pushing "west" in the war in ukraine are jews.

So, do not take goodwill from general population in "west" for their weakness or weakness of the "west". Because goodwill has its limits. And while "west" is indeed collapsing right now, that does not mean "west" will disappear altogether. "west" now has problems. And I am cautiously optimistic that problems will be resolved. After that, russian federation does not want to lose goodwill from general population in the "west"........

Russian federation has the same problems as "west" has. but in russian federation it is forbidden (even more so than in the "west") to talk about it.

More than sixty years have passed since July 2, 1961, when the world learned that Ernest Hemingway had passed away. However, his fame as a writer has not faded at all since those ancient times.

He, who came into this controversial and troubled world 125 years ago, on July 21, 1899, still remains one of the most outstanding and widely read prose writers of the last century, who has become a generally recognised pillar of world literature, whose authority is unshakable and, in general, indisputable.

His contribution to the artistic culture of mankind, despite all the inconsistency and unequal value of his creative heritage, is significant and undeniable. Consequently, the great artist today can be considered our contemporary, because genuine original talents, titan of spirit, thoughts, words in the collective social consciousness continue to live forever, regardless of socio-political winds, storms and worldwide upheavals that change people internally and even externally, but not eradicating in us the eternal desire for knowledge and sensory perception of the masterpieces of world fiction.

I’m probably not the only one who remembers an episode from Hemingway’s most famous, unusual, philosophical story “The Old Man and the Sea,” in which a boy says to an exhausted old man who has reached the shore words that should cheer up the fisherman and instill in him the confidence that is important for an old man: “You must get better quickly, because I still have a lot to learn from you, and you can teach me everything in the world.”

These words, put by the writer into the mouth of a very young man who was just beginning to live and to perceive and ponder earthly life with interest, seem symbolic. Symbolic in the sense that their main meaning should be associated with the work of Hemingway himself. And if so, then it’s no shame to think about what the readers learned from old man Hemingway? 
However, it is a stretch to consider and call the writer an old man. Here, rather, we mean a certain conditional echo of the author in one of his heroes, hero-symbols, forever entrenched in fiction.

So what can and should we learn from Hemingway? What did he leave to humanity, fundamental, deep and timeless, capable even in the 21st century of acting as landmarks guiding us through life, along its bumpy and winding roads?

In Hemingway's view, a writer must bring knowledge to readers. And this knowledge must be true. At the same time, continuity in literature should never be interrupted: 
Every truthfully written book is a contribution to the general fund of knowledge placed at the disposal of the succeeding writer, but this writer, in turn, must contribute a certain share of his experience in order to understand and master everything that belongs to him by right of inheritance - and move on.”

So what lessons can we learn from Hemingway? First of all, his developments on the anti-war theme, based on the writer’s clear and definite attitude towards war, which remained unchanged throughout Hemingway’s life, are especially valuable.

Shaped as a writer by WWI, Hemingway considered war a tragedy. But his attitude towards this tragedy changed over the years. Having debunked at one time bourgeois ideas about patriotism, honour, duty and the like, the writer was able to show the inhumane essence of the imperialist war. 

When strengthening of social contradictions and the onset of fascism forced him to reconsider his attitude towards the world, he came to the conclusion about the need to fight reaction - the war against fascism would become saturated with humanistic meaning, and participation in it on the side of progress was perceived by him as the highest moral duty of a person.

Hemingway was able to discern the bestial appearance of fascism, even being a very young and inexperienced journalist. In the early 1920s, when many representatives of the Western intelligentsia were touched by Mussolini’s demagogic slogans.

Russia is ready to counter US ‘satellite jammer’ space plans


The new “satellite jammers” the US intends to deploy in space to target Russian and Chinese satellites are meant to deprive Moscow and Beijing of “command, control, communication and intelligence systems during times of conflict,” says Bruce Gagnon, coordinator at Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space.

According to him, these US jammers are “intended as offensive weapons” and have “nothing to do with defense whatsoever.”

The US' development of jammers, however, “is forcing Russia and China to develop similar technologies,” Gagnon adds.

“In the case of Russia, I know they're developing ways to block these jammers, to counter these jammers,” he says. “So this is all leading to the rise or the increase or the growth of tensions, escalation of warfare capabilities and space.”

Gagnon also observes that this development takes place as the US “refuses to have a treaty to ban weapons in space,” which effectively forced Russia, China and India to pursue the development of “kinetic energy anti-satellite weapons.”

“For at least 25 years, Russia and China have gone to the United Nations General Assembly and introduced a treaty to prevent all weapons in space,” he laments, noting that the US and Israel “blocked this development of this treaty for more than 25 years” when it was brought to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.

Meanwhile, Alexander Mikhailov, head of Russian think tank Bureau of Military-Political Analysis, argues that the US' move to deploy satellite jammers in space suggest that Washington’s previous attempt to establish a ground-based satellite jamming system was unsuccessful.

Not only did that previous scheme require considerable investments into new jamming facilities on the ground, but the system that “the Americans previously touted as a tested, effective system that can suppress any satellite signal and would thus be able to blind or silence Russian and Chinese satellites – it turned out that this system does not work,” Mikhailov observes.

He also notes that Russian electronic warfare systems are much more advanced than the ones developed by the US, and mentioned multiple reports about Russian systems successfully jamming Starlink satellite signals.

He specifically mentions the Tirada 2-S systems that “successfully jam satellite communication signals and ‘blind’ the units covered in Starlink satellite dishes.”

Tirada 2-S, Mikhailov explains, is not only capable of suppressing satellite signals – it can also scramble communications and “create false narratives, not only jamming communication channels but deceiving those receiving satellite signals and the satellite in space that receives signals from Earth.”

During that time, what else is potentially being installed on their systems in preparation for a much larger cyber false flag event?
