My knowledge about stock markets is only the main basics, I am mainly watching "patterns". Usually the futures are higher than the indices, but now it's the other way around. But I have no clue what it means.
I only use this page because you can see a good overview of the main data but can get a lot of more info with the links.

it is a problem with japan yen. you may remember my posts about japan yen. well, either yen should lose value or japan bonds and stock exchange. japan central bank decided to prop up yen. this is the result. also, you should all note that moscow stock exchange can trade in dollars (sanctions were lifted). that means a lot of US $ are going back into the system.

For those that need to organize and understand at a 12th grade language!
Japan as the Linchpin
Yen Carry Trade: Japan has been offering very low interest rates for a long time. Investors borrow money in Japan (Yen) at these low rates and invest it in other countries where they can get higher returns. This is known as the Yen carry trade.
Inflation and Interest Rates: Recently, Japan has been facing inflation, which means the prices of goods and services are going up. To combat inflation, the Bank of Japan (BOJ) might decide to raise interest rates.
Impact on Carry Trade: If the BOJ raises interest rates, it becomes more expensive for investors to borrow money in Japan. This could lead to a situation where investors start selling their investments in other countries to pay back their loans in Japan.
How This Collapses the Market
Short Squeeze: When investors start selling their investments to pay back their loans, it can cause a short squeeze. This means that the value of the Yen starts to rise quickly because there's a sudden demand for it.
Global Margin Call: The sudden selling of investments can lead to a global margin call. This is like a chain reaction where one investor selling causes others to sell, leading to a widespread sell-off in the markets.
Flight to Safety: In times of market uncertainty, investors often move their money into safer assets like U.S. Treasuries, gold, and the U.S. dollar. This can cause these assets to rise in value while riskier assets like stocks fall.
Economic Impact: The sell-off in the markets can have a ripple effect on the global economy. Companies may struggle to raise capital, consumer confidence may drop, and economic growth could slow down.
Summary
Japan is the linchpin because its actions can set off a chain reaction in the global financial markets. If the BOJ raises interest rates to combat inflation, it could lead to a short squeeze in the Yen, causing investors to sell their investments in other countries. This sell-off could trigger a global margin call, leading to a collapse in the markets as investors rush to safer assets. The economic impact of such a collapse could be significant, affecting companies, consumers, and overall economic growth.

Re: Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
It is interesting to observe how, describing the dramatic events in Bangladesh, the world's "democratic press" tells us their favorite narratives about the secondary, avoiding what happened - a coup d'etat coincided in the country.
Private news with anguish and without context is a kaleidoscope of violence against the background of the tropics and searches in the brains of a philistine raised by this press from a "benevolent country" for which we are all Bangladesh.
Bagladesh is itself a densely populated and one of the most colonized countries in the world (I do not write "poor", because this poverty is not a natural given, but a political result). A country with serious social problems has seen a turning point in rapid economic growth in recent years, free public education programs and subsidy systems have been created for the poorest part of the population, its main trading partners have become India, China and Russia, and over the past year it has applied to join the BRICS.
But, as always happens, unexpectedly, students rebelled with demands to change one law and fight corruption and unrighteousness. The "authoritarian regime" went to the rebels recently and agreed to fulfill some of the requirements. In response, there were more demands and peaceful demonstrations ceased to be peaceful. After that, the army "supported the fighters for democracy" and demanded that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasin, the daughter of the founder of the state and the national hero of Bangladesh, leave the country within 45 minutes. He means, "for the good of the nation and for the good of the motherland." Does anyone remind anyone?

Amid protests and shootouts with police, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh flew to India, senior officials are also fleeing abroad.
In general, the coup there was a success, everything according to the Ukrainian scenario, which is well known to Yanukovych.
......
Seems some Russians have a special POV on it.
Don't misunderstand, yes, Bangladesh under Hasina was as corrupt as it ever was. But at this time I see the coup as one of the worst scenarios, not only for Bangladesh but also for the whole region, B&R and BRICS. Think about it.
Not to forget what Mr Bolsen explained, the protesters wanted an intervention by the USA, reminded me of Hongkong with their demand for a British intervention.

pissraeli shekel minister bezalel smotrich: It may be ‘justified’ to starve 2 million Gazans, but world won’t let us
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich implied on Monday that he believes blocking humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip is “justified and moral” even if it causes two million civilians to die of hunger, but the international community won’t allow that to happen.
“We bring in aid because there is no choice,” Smotrich said at a conference in Yad Binyamin hosted by the right-wing Israel Hayom outlet. “We can’t, in the current global reality, manage a war. Nobody will let us cause 2 million civilians to die of hunger, even though it might be justified and moral, until our hostages are returned.

Re: Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
after glancing at all the Bangladesh analyses you posted auntie.... i still have a gnawing doubt about these explanations.
I notice that NONE of them weigh in the muslim factor.
I see it as a primary motivator in their rejection of PM Hasina... that they perceived her as SELLOUT to Modi and the UK. (Her neice is an elected politcian in the Labor party/UK.)
The country of 150M is 90% Sunni... so the 'young students' are 90% Sunni.
That's why^^ it doesn't make sense to me.
This is being 'sold' as a 'Maidan' type US led 'color revolution' being some kind of asymmetric US 'plot' against India...
as a bunch of 'Hong Kong' type rebels yearning for western democracy is the projected simile.
My own feeling is that it indeed is Pro-China and anti-India. I'll be watching to see what the military junta does now...
I'm not buyin it.

Ok let’s see what develops
The project of the interim government of Bangladesh will be presented within 24 hours - UNB with reference to the coordinator of student protests Nahid Islam
According to him, the country will establish a form of government that is supported by citizens and students.
At the same time, all those who died during the protests were declared national heroes.
