These towers extend the line of sight of the 10ЭС1 multispectral optical-electronic module, as well as the directional patterns of the 1РС2 "Шлем" guidance radar and the over the forest areas 15-20 m high, ensuring the tracking and interception of kamikaze UAVs with low-altitude flight profiles, as well as increasing the range of their detection.
It is precisely these structures that must be erected in large quantities near strategically important air bases of the Russian Aerospace Forces, military equipment warehouses and oil refineries.
In Crimea, the creation of such structures would greatly alleviate the gap in detection capability due to the partial incapacitation of the Black Sea Fleet as well as the loss of AWACS systems.
