https://www.statesman.com/news/20190425/federal-judge-rules-against-texas-in-ban-on-boycotting-israel
In a victory for freedom of speech advocates and a setback for conservative state leaders, U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman on Thursday issued a temporary injunction on a politically charged law that bars state contract workers from boycotting Israel.
By blocking the state from enforcing the 2-year-old law, Pitman sided with Palestinian speech pathologist Bahia Amawi, who lost her contract position with the Pflugerville School district in October when she refused to sign her initials on an agreement saying she does not boycott Israel and would not do so for the remainder of her contract.
Amawi, a 46-year-old mother from Round Rock, testified in Pitman’s Austin courtroom last month that she refuses to buy certain items, such as hummus and classroom toys, that are made by Israeli companies. Staring out at dozens of members of the local Muslim community, she told the court that Israel has long mistreated her family and other Palestinians and she could not in good conscience certify that she would refuse to boycott the country.
In 2017, Gov. Greg Abbott signed a law that prohibits governmental entities from contracting with and investing in companies that boycott Israel, the state’s fourth-leading trade partner. The law is a response to the “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” movement, often referred to as BDS, that seeks to change Israeli policy toward Palestinians. In defending the constitutionality of the law, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has said the state had a right to boycott boycotters.

Zambeezi wrote:IMF bailout may now be inevitable
What until this morning was a bad dream for Turkish Lira longs just became a full-blown nightmare.
now that the central bank has capitulated in its response to soaring inflation, the focus shifts to the central bank's supply of reserves.
And this is where it gets interesting, because as the FT reported, Turkey’s hard currency reserves fell by another $1.8 billion last week, "highlighting the country’s deteriorating financial defences and piling pressure on the central bank to spell out the unusual accounting methods behind the funds."
Specifically, net foreign currency reserves fell to $26.9 billion in the week to April 19, down from $28.7 billion in the previous week, fresh data from the Turkish central bank show. However, the net reserves excluding bank swaps have tumbled to only $14.9 billion, a number which may not last the country even one month if it engages in another episode of full-blown lira defense, which in turn suggests that an IMF bailout may now be inevitable.

Crazy shit is going on over there. And all of it has the very patterns as any other such large scale attack we've witnessed in last years. Known threat, known suspects, known backers. When Duterte came closer to China and Russia ISIS took over Marawi. When Assad was defiant to the globalist policy and intended to maintain partnership with Russia ISIS attacked the country. Sri Lanka intends to be a part of "Belt and Road" and cooperate with China and, suddenly, ISIS appears and strucks the country with large scale terror attack. No coinkidink here. The ISIS, irregular globalist army, has same sponsors and backers for decades. US/NATO/KSA
What's your feeling about the Sri Lanka President? Do you think he was kept in the dark about all the terror info or you think he knew and turned a blind eye?
Well, following the reasoning I can asume that he was rather kept in blind than a part of the plot. If he represents official state policy, that is open to Chinese initiative, then it would be highly contradictory to support such operation that was, in fact, attack against him as well. Not even two weeks ahead of the attack this article was published by Financial Times:
April 12, 2019
Malaysia to resume China-built Belt and Road rail project
"The Malaysian government said on Friday it would allow construction of a controversial Chinese railway to resume after it negotiated a cost reduction, breaking an almost year-long impasse over one of China’s highest-profile Belt and Road projects."
https://www.ft.com/content/8bc8cb02-5ceb-11e9-9dde-7aedca0a081a
Well, I need to explain little bit further as the article itself is about Malaysia. Further in the article is written:
In Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena beat Mahinda Rajapaksa in a presidential election in 2015 and launched a series of reviews of Beijing-led infrastructure projects on the island nation, as well as negotiating revised financial terms with Chinese state-owned enterprises, including CCCC.
This is what I looked for but quoted wrong part of the article. So it was quite confusing I guess. Even for me today.
Earlier this month HindustanTimes wrote:
Under Belt and Road Initiative, China builds rail line in Sri Lanka, a first since 1948
https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/under-belt-and-road-initiative-china-builds-first-rail-line-in-sri-lanka/story-pO2qHyvJLSyGNq07lHFieP.html
Also this article is quite interesting:
China, Sri Lanka jointly build green Belt and Road projects
https://eng.yidaiyilu.gov.cn/qwyw/rdxw/82666.htm
All I can say is Sirisena was elected to office on pro-India and anti-China platform. He did cancel many of the China projects that his predecessor had lined up, but it after some time during office that he decided they had to keep some of these projects with China due to necessity because of the debt to China was going to be too problematic, (a result of China loans during the previous administration).
PM Wickremesinghe holds pro-India view also.
Then there is the astonishing info that SL govt admitted to knowing there were people in the country who belonged to ISIS and did nothing about it. And other news tidbits that come out every day which puts SL govt in a bad light, such as latest one where current SL govt made a law which weakened their own intelligence service. Curious...

Trump’s decision to withdraw from the UN Arms Treaty could pull US into more foreign wars
Donald Trump’s decision to pull the United States from the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty could lead the country into future foreign wars and exacerbate the immigration crisis at the southern border with Mexico, critics have claimed.
Pulling out of the deal essentially allows the sale of US firearms to foreign actors, which could then be used in wars that threaten American interests abroad, and then pull the US into those conflicts.
Meanwhile Trump tells supporters in the crowd he's doing it simply out of love for the constitution and freedom for Mericans. “We will never allow foreign bureaucrats to trample on your Second Amendment freedom,” Mr Trump said.

Thousands of protesters have gathered across Algeria to protest against the lingering political influence of former President Abdel Aziz Bouteflika's family after a week of arrests against high-profile billionaires failed to fully appease the protest movement, AP reported April 26.
Algeria's protesters are maintaining their ability to regularly organize demonstrations on Fridays as the country undergoes a political transition.

The bodies of 15 people, including six children, were discovered at the site of a fierce overnight gun battle on the east coast of Sri Lanka, a military spokesman said on Saturday, six days after suicide bombers killed more than 250 people. The shootout between troops and suspected Islamist militants erupted on Friday evening in Sainthamaruthu in Ampara, to the south of the town of Batticaloa, site of one of the Easter Sunday blasts at three churches and four luxury hotels.
A police spokesman said that three suspected suicide bombers were among the 15 dead after the shoot out.
One child caught in the crossfire was admitted to hospital.
Military spokesman Sumith Atapattu said in a statement that as troops headed towards the safe house three explosions were triggered and gunfire began.
"Troops retaliated and raided the safe house where a large cache of explosives had been stored," he said in a statement.
He said the militants were suspected members of the domestic Islamist group National Towheed Jama'at (NTJ), which has been blamed for last Sunday's attacks.
Bomb-making materials, dozens of gelignite sticks and thousands of metal balls were found in a search of a separate house in the same area, the military said.

“It’s an outrage,” Putin told reporters.
“It’s not clear what she was convicted of or what crime she committed. I think it’s a prime example of ‘saving face.’ They arrested her and put the girl in jail. But there was nothing on her, so in order not to look totally stupid they gave her, fixed her up, with an 18-month sentence to show that she was guilty of something.”
