Ecuador govt agrees to repeal austerity law that sparked protests as indigenous groups pledge to stop rallies - UN representative

Ecuadorian government agreed to terminate Executive Decree 883 that canceled fuel subsidies and prompted protests throughout the county for 11 days. Indigenous groups that led the rallies consented to stopping the mobilization.

https://www.rt.com/news/470872-ecuador-protests-groups-deal/

Ecuadorian indigenous people are sadly mistaken if they think bankers will give up that easily. A deal was made with the IMF devil, money given on condition of austerity. Would be a big mistake to not keep pressure up on Moreno regime.

The Syrian army is going to have to enter areas near Turkish operation alone if they enter with YPG Turkey will target them. It's a mess at the end of the day the Syrians who entered Tal Abyad with Turkey were all ethnically cleansed by the YPG in 2015 from area and they do have more of a Claim to the area than Kurds do if Assad attacks them he will be accused of ethnically cleansing Arabs of behalf of Kurds and lose massive support from the Arab population who are the vast majority of Syrians.

It looks like the US is going to try to hold on to the the Deir Ezzor oilfields and Al Tanf base. The crisis is not over what happens to the 5 million Syrian refugees in Turkey ,Lebanon and Jordan? What happens to the 3 million people in Idlib?

Rojava is gone, their "allies" are gone and all that remained is need to beg for protection from Syrian army and allies. The side that they called "Iranian militias" or "regime forces". How pathetic.

Moreover, it seems to be mistery how they were able to withstand ISIS attacks for such long time. Their defense crumbled within 4 days now ffs.

Thing is ISIS weren't a mobilised professional army Turkey however has manpower and a full military structure to bring to bare against the Kurdish.

Thankfully now they have a deal with Assad to deploy units preventing a Turkish advancement it's time for the Kirds to eat humble pie and enter serious negotiations with Assad.

Still, ISIS were able to overrun half of Iraq and Syria. I mean they were able to completely obliterate regular national armies. But not Kurds in a few cities. It clearly supports my thesis that ISIS were directly supported by the US/NATO. You remember, we argued over this several times. I mean western support for ISIS.

Anyway, they were supported till they reached Plan B (or, probably, Plan C) proxy force. Suddenly, weak Kurds withstanded assaults of ISIS headchoppers for years... Can you see what I can see?

Aye I get what ya saying bud essentially the US & Co giving selective support to see ISIS expand in the same way Israel allows Hamas to grow, meanwhile supporting Kurds to push into Syria to take as much ground as possible under the ISIS threat umbrella.

This includes why the Kurds refused earlier talks and negotiations with Assad due to US actions effectively promising support for what the Kurds were doing securing oil fields and going further than the region they owned before the Arabs took over the North East.

It will work providing the Kurdish units back away from the region and hand over full control to Assad's forces after this Turkey would only be directly conflicting Assad's forces and can not use the excuse of targeting Kurdish units because they wouldn't be there

To be honest if you look at the map Turkey has already captured Tal Abyad and their second main target is Ras al ayn which is so close to the Turkish border that Turkish f16s could hit targets in ras al ayn from Turkish airspace so a no fly zone will do nothing to stop Turkey.

Conflicting reports on Tabaqa Airport. Despite the video posted last night, some soldiers in southern Raqqa reporting that they haven’t actually entered yet.

Hearing rumours that the Russians have imposed a no fly zone over North Syria, not certain on details yet though"

To be honest if you look at the map Turkey has already captured Tal Abyad and their second main target is Ras al ayn which is so close to the Turkish border that Turkish f16s could hit targets in ras al ayn from Turkish airspace so a no fly zone will do nothing to stop Turkey.

Aye in theory Turkey could use Stand off weapons to attack deep into Syrian territory from within Turkey but usually a no fly zone includes missiles and drones, this puts a hammer to the Turkish 30x120km "buffer zone" idea

What's the pre agreed line? 30km? I thought that deal was between Turkey and America not Turkey and Syrian goverment and Russia.

I assume it would be a line agreed upon by Russia and Turkey should be void of the Turkey US line
