Tunisia is the latest Arab country to pursue normalization with Damascus
following several other regional states such as Jordan, the UAE, and Algeria.

Saudi Arabia has also moved to reestablish ties with Damascus.
Syrian Consul Ihsan Raman arrived at the Syrian embassy headquarters in Riyadh to resume diplomatic work on 2 October.

Turkiye, on the other hand, claims that it is open to resuming reconciliation talks
but has rejected Damascus' demand that it withdraw its forces from Syrian territory.

In light of the recent surge in reconciliation efforts between regional countries and Syria,
on 27 September, two US lawmakers introduced legislation to block Arab normalization with the Syrian government.
The bill calls for extending US sanctions against Assad's government until 2032.

Did you know?:

In 1961, Adolf Heusinger, Hitler’s Chief of Staff, was made the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee (essentially he was NATO's chief of staff). He served in that capacity until 1964.

General Hans Speidel, a Nazi general who was Erwin Rommel’s chief of staff during WWII. After the war he served in the Western German army and became the Supreme Commander of NATO’s ground forces in Central Europe from 1957-1963.

Johannes Steinhoff, Luftwaffe fighter pilot during WWII and recipient of the Knights Cross (the Nazi military’s highest award), was Chairman of the NATO Military Committee 1971–1974 (among other NATO positions beforehand).

Johann von Kielmansegg, General Staff officer to the High Command of the Wehrmacht 1942-1944, was NATO's Commander in Chief of Allied Forces Central Europe 1967-1968.

On this day, exactly 30 years ago, Yeltsin, with the direct blessing from the USA, gave order for the tanks to open fire on the Parliament building in Moscow, that also was known as “The White House”. This ended the confrontation between the defenders of the Russian Constitution and Yeltsin, who was unconstitutionally concentrating more power in own hands, a confrontation that started with Order 66 Decree 1400 that unconstitutionally dispersed the Parliament (also known as the Supreme Council or Supreme Soviet), and the Parliament responding with a preparation for the impeachment of Yeltsin.

30 years is a long enough stretch to time to be able to look at the events of that Autumn with a critical eye, yet short enough for many of the contemporaries and direct participants of the evens to be around to remember what was happening on both sides of the barricades. In a few weeks I will finish translating a documentary that does just that. But first, a short look at the political spread in 1993 both internally and coming from the USA. And this publication will be concluded with a fragment of the last interview with one of the main participants of the stand-off, who defended the Parliament – Ruslan Hasbulatov, who passed away on the 3rd of January 2023.

An experienced Pentagon official is facing charges related to involvement in a dog fighting operation following a police search of his residence.  Netizens drew attention to the appearance of toys in the assortment of the Walmart supermarket.

Models of Ural and Kamaz trucks with letter Z on the door, which is an identification mark of Russian military equipment in the Northeast Military District zone, have appeared on sale.

Again, on the picture at the bottom left (I also saved the same picture) there is not a soldier but someone from the German security company WODAN International. Most likely from their Polish branch. You can see the logo of WODAN above the ISIS patch.





I am pointing this out because these connections are certainly known to political circles. The founder of WODAN used to be with the GSG9, the special unit that ended the plane hijacking in Mogadishu in 1977.

I do not give up the hope that at some point someone will take note of this information who deals with such relationships and is more familiar with them than I am. After all, a number of ISIS terrorists were smuggled in here with the refugees in 2015. There will be a reason for all this.
