►BERLIN, Feb 29 (Reuters) - Investigative journalists using artificial-intelligence tools were on the trail of a fugitive member of the notorious Red Army Faction well before German police announced a breakthrough in the 30-year-old case earlier this week.
►Daniela Klette, 65, a member of the leftist militant group, was arrested on Monday in her Berlin flat on suspicion of committing a string of robberies and at least one attempted murder between 1999 and 2016 to finance her underground life.
►German police and security services say strict privacy laws limit their ability to use the kinds of artificial intelligence-enhanced tools that a German TV podcast deployed to track down Klette last year.
►Last year, however, an ARD television podcast tracked Klette, one of three RAF militants still sought 26 years after the group announced its dissolution, by putting the picture from her wanted notice through image search tool PimEyes.
This yielded online images of a much older woman going by the name "Claudia Ivone" who, until the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020, regularly took part in Berlin's Afro-Brazilian scene and was a practitioner of Brazilian martial dance capoeira.

"I strongly recommend that you follow this trace," Bellingcat investigative journalist Michael Colborne recalled telling the podcasters in an interview with Die Zeit weekly on Thursday. He said he had run the pictures through a host of face comparison tools and kept turning up the same result.

"For reasons of investigation tactics we make no disclosures about our detection methods," prosecutor Alexander Hege said when asked if the podcast was the original source of the tip.

I'm just wondering why this is happening right now. Especially if one assumes that the RAF was quite certainly a part of the "Gladio", especially the "third generation". I am sure that the German domestic intelligence service was informed about her whereabouts all the time. 

A similar nonsense as with the "exposure" of the meeting of the AfD ~2 months after it took place. By the way, the German state was "blind in the right eye" until about 1990. Until then, only the danger of "left-wing extremism" had ever been warned. When I saw this posting and the image, the first thought I had about the Prime Minister is that she's got a look on her face like she hasn't had a good lay in over a year!

Than, because I don't know too much about Estonia, and why she might be barking about keeping options open, so I looked it up.

Estonia is about the size of US States Maryland and/or West Virginia in land area.

The population of Estonia is about the same as Houston, TX.

Their "armed forces" consist of . . . get this . . . . 7,700 active duty troops.

Now, I may not have my numbers right, but doesn't Russia kill that many Ukrainians on the battlefield every two or three weeks?

So if this woman is serious about sending troops from European countries into Ukraine, she could send her ENTIRE active duty army, and they would last for about . . . . a month.

Do you think she ever stopped to think about that? What would she achieve?

Are these "leaders" stupid, or is this a carefully orchestrated PLAN to deliberately wipe out western populations?

Mali, Russia foreign ministers hold talks in Moscow


Mali's foreign minister Abdoulaye Diop was in Moscow on Wednesday for talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

Addressing a press conference, the two leaders vowed to strengthen their bilateral security partnership.

“As for the topic of security, we are actively interacting in the military and military-technical sphere, and we see how Mali’s defence capability is being strengthened thanks to the work of our instructors, and the training of personnel on the territory of the Russian Federation for the Malian armed forces, and thanks, of course, to the supply of Russian military equipment,” said Sergey Lavrov.

Lavrov said that Moscow had supplied Bamako with 25,000 tons of wheat and 17,000 tons of fuel in January alone.

Is Germany preparing strikes against Russia?

Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of RT and Rossiya Segodnya, Sputnik's parent media group, said she had obtained an audio recording of high-ranking officers of the German Bundeswehr discussing "how they will bomb the Crimean bridge".

The recording lasts 40 minutes, Simonyan writes. The German officers also mention colleagues from the United States and Britain, "discussing that these people have been directly involved in the conflict for a long time".

"What does this mean? Isn't it time for Russia to actively remind Germany of what happened last time when Russian bridges were blown up? I would like to see the answer, as is customary for all requests from your media, by noon today," Simonyan wrote on her Telegram channel.

A Bundeswehr Air Force inspector who took part in the discussion of the strike on the Crimean Bridge allowed the transfer of 100 Taurus missiles to Kiev in two batches.

The German military discussed the possibility of attacking with these missiles using a Dassault Rafale fighter, as follows from the transcript published by Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of RT and Rossiya Segodnya, Sputnik's parent media group;

The representative of the Bundeswehr said that Taurus missiles, when delivered to Ukraine, will be ready for use in eight months;

One of the participants in the conversation doubted whether the strike on the bridge would be effective, and asked the question of how many missiles it would take: “It may not require 10 or even 20 missiles";

The issue of transferring Taurus missiles to Kiev has been discussed in Germany lately. The Bundestag recently adopted a draft resolution on the supply of long-range weapons, but without specifying the type;

At the same time, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has repeatedly stated that he is against such supplies. The German military, in a document published by Simonyan, touches on this topic - one of those present says that "no one knows why the chancellor is blocking these supplies."
