Sivers’k Direction: Battles near Bilohorivka and advances south of Spirne
Situation as of 6 pm on May 24, 2024

In the Sivers’k direction, fighting continues in the vicinity of Bilohorivka. Some time ago, the enemy launched several local counterattacks northeast of the Western filtering station towards the Shepilovsky mountains. The trenches and dugouts in this area have been heavily shelled by artillery, and therefore have little value, with Russian troops withdrawing from the lowland while maintaining a presence on the heights to the east near the "U"-shaped tree line.

On the opposite bank of the Siversky Donets north of Bilohorivka, there are small fortified areas of the enemy. This area is heavily swampy and almost impassable. Supply is carried out by boats across the river from the neighboring Hryhorivka and Serebryanka. Watercraft are often intercepted and destroyed during the delivery of cargo and rotation.

The fortified areas on the heights east of Bilohorivka are under the stable control of Russian forces, but it is difficult to rely on them to advance deeper into the settlement: the difference in elevation, a large number of trenches, and a "lunar" landscape make it difficult for even highly mobile tracked vehicles to move.

The territory of the Popasna water plant remains a gray zone. On the dominant height to the west, as before, there are positions of the enemy. The industrial zone itself is in a lowland, and the heights to the east, controlled by the Russian Armed Forces, are inferior to the chalk dump. South of the chalk quarry, the Russian Armed Forces managed to advance some time ago and occupy a strongpoint at the forest belt, as well as gain a foothold on the territory of the abandoned orchards east of the Artemonivske tract. In the tract itself, there are several major enemy strongpoints. Further advancement here is fraught with heavy losses, as north of Artemonivske there is another fortified height, supported by artillery from the Kovyl reserve near the village of Hryhorivka and the Holy Mountains National Nature Park.

The situation could be somewhat eased by an offensive in the Verkhn’okam’yanka-Verkhn’okam’yans’ke area, but so far, at least according to the open sources, there is no noticeable activity.

The situation in Spirne after the unsuccessful attempt to advance remains shrouded in the "fog of war" and may be quite dynamic.
