The head of the Sergokalinsky district of Dagestan, Magomed Omarov, was detained. Previously, his sons Osman and Adil took part in the terrorist attack. Security forces eliminated both. At the moment, Omarov is being searched. There is no official information yet.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan reports that the police eliminated four militants in Makhachkala. The death toll reached 10 (7 of them were law enforcement officers). There are also 25 casualties known.

At the moment, it seems four places are affected by the terrorist attack in Russian Caucasia:
Machatchkala, Derbent and Sergokala at the Caspian Sea and somewhere in Abchasia.
Sergokala is right in-between Machatchkala and Derbent and the mayor of this village seems to be involved.

The second is the tactics of the militants. The way they attacked police checkpoints, the way they handled weapons and used the surrounding objects for cover - ordinary bearded men are incapable of this.
Well, and most importantly, the key point in today's events is the date. That AFU struck Crimea, and militants of terrorist organizations attacked Dagestan and Abkhazia on the same day - Holy Trinity Day.
Such love for symbolism cannot be instilled in ordinary IS extremists (the latter attacked at any convenient moment, rather than timing everything to a certain date). One can't help but remember the terrorist attack in Crocus, where there was also a trace of external influence.
In general, the attack on Sevastopol and the attack on the North Caucasus seem to be aimed at stressing the population. Do you remember how the AFU used to launch the ATAKMS? A salvo of missiles clearly aimed at one target along one route.
