A very interesting article from 2021 about the psychological reasons that keep the "system" running. Anyone who does not pay attention to these mechanisms will have little success in organizing resistance to the machinations and, ultimately, the whole system.

The main reason for my wish to change this society is that so many human skills have no chance to come to fruition. Instead they are used in a really sick way so that people are maintaining their own suffering from wars, hunger and illness. But it can not be changed "top-down", only in some kind of "grassroots revolution" or better "evolution" where more and more people work together to get rid of TPTB (whoever that is).
No need for a "big event" but development. One of my ideas to reach it: Don't play "their" games - don't use "their" rules - don't think in the box of "their" paradigms.
It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.
That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".

On this day in 1961, the US started spraying Agent Orange in a campaign called “Operation Ranch Hand,” which would last 10 years. The program entailed the spraying of 19 million gallons of defoliants and herbicides over rural South Vietnam. Its alleged aim was to deny the Vietcong access to food and concealment provided by vegetation. In reality, it was to punish and deprive the Vietnamese people for their resistance.

Democracy of Mass Destruction
Ever wondered what is the common denominator between Vietnam, Yugoslavia and Iraq? How democratic values are dropped from the US war planes? Why Agent Orange, white phosphorus and depleted uranium are the tools of democracy? This documentary by Pavel Selin was aired on VGTRK in 2015, but has acquired an added weight in 2023.
In 2023 this "democratisation" made a new step with the UK providing the Ukraine with depleted uranium munitions. However, before the whole of Donbass could have been contaminated with them , the stash was destroyed by the Russian aerial strike, with the radioactive plume travelling with the wind towards Poland, Scandinavia, and - in a "return to sender" gesture - to the UK. The dangers of the depleted uranium are described in the article "Ukraine's Depleted Uranium Blast: Europe on Brink of 'Environmental Disaster'" by Dr. Chris Busby, physical chemist and scientific secretary of the European Committee on Radiation Risk.
The complete transcript of the documentary is at Beorn's Beehive.
The documentary is also available on Odysee.

Re: Main news thread - conflicts, terrorism, crisis from around the globe
On August 9, 1945, the Soviet Union, keeping with its commitments with allies, launched military offensive against militarist Japan. The Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation of the USSR Armed Forces in the Far East started.
Japan refrained from confronting the USSR head-on on Germany’s side during the Great Patriotic War. However, Tokyo systematically violated its neutrality obligations under the bilateral agreement signed on April 13, 1945. In fact, Japan pursued an aggressive policy towards our country and engaged in subversive activity, while also sharing its intelligence with Berlin on the economic and military capabilities of the USSR in its Far East and Siberia.
By the end of 1941, the strength of the Kwantung Army, a strategic Japanese force based in Manchuria along the border with the USSR, amounted to 700,000 soldiers. With this force, Japan was ready to launch an intervention against the USSR in the Far East any time. The Kwantung Army was just waiting for the right moment to invade.
However, when Germany capitulated in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region remained the last stronghold for the axis powers, with militarist Japan occupying the territories on the Korean Peninsula, as well as in Indochina, Indonesia, Malaya, parts of China, Birma and the Philippines. By the summer of 1945, the Japanese built 17 fortified defensive areas along the Soviet and Mongolian border. The power of the Kwantung Army’s, in the meanwhile by 1945, approached one million of personnel.
To neutralise the Japanese threat in the Far East and in keeping with the allied commitments to the US and the UK under the agreements reached during the Tehran Conference in 1943 and the Yalta Conference in 1945, on June 28, 1945, the Soviet General Headquarters approved a plan for launching military action against Japan. Marshal of the Soviet Union Alexander Vasilevsky was tasked with heading the USSR’s strike force, established as part of the General Headquarters’ Chief Command for the Far East, to carry out this mission.
On August 9, the Soviet Armed Forces launched their offensive. The goal of the operation was to defeat the Kwantung Army as quickly as possible and liberate northeast China and North Korea from the Japanese invaders.
The Soviet Army staged a blistering offensive by targeting the enemy on land, at sea and in the air. Combat action stretched along a frontline, which exceeded 5,000 kilometres. Within one month, the Soviet forces managed to liberate Harbin, northeast China and North Korea, while also seizing the southern part of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands from Japan. By August 20, the Japanese were no longer able to resist, with more and more enemy soldiers surrendering. The Kwantung Army was defeated.
By September 1, 1945, the Soviet units completed their mission. It took them 23 days to defeat the Japanese military machine and make a decisive contribution to the ending of the Second World War in the Far East. Our country recovered the southern part of Sakhalin, which remained under Japanese rule since 1905 when Japan took it from the Russian Empire. In addition to that, the USSR took back the Kuril Islands and once again took over the Kwantung Leased Territory, including Port Arthur and Dalniy. The USSR largely owed its success in this operation to the courage of the Soviet soldiers. Orders and medals were awarded to 308,000 servicemen for their feats in the campaign against Japan, including 93 persons who were awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union title, with six of them being declared two-time Heroes of the Soviet Union.
On September 2, 1945, Japan signed the Instrument of Surrender on board of USS "Missouri" in Tokyo Bay. General Kuzma Derevyanko signed it on behalf of the Soviet Union. This marked the end of World War II.
