If the S-300 system is as good as it's said to be (and I hope it is) then once it's deployed the only reason Israeli warplanes can so much as take off, is because Syria allows it.

I would personally go with the S-300...

The fact that Israel is now too afraid to use f16s tells you everything and they only have a handful of f35s if the S-300 doesn't shoot down the f35 it will shoot down any missiles it fires. If Israel goes too far Russia may shoot down the f35 with the S-400 to show how good it is or may even supply Syria with the S-400.

Personally I doubt they would use F-35. In combat it was used only once, against horseback riding Talibanis last week. The other day the jet fell from the sky like a piece of rock. Israelis wouldn't take such risk. Meybe if they will be able to put an American into the cockpit...

I disagree, I think they are arrogant enough to try it with the F-35. These people aren't used to being put on a leash, and think they are above all. Their arrogance will allow them to try something this stupid, of that I am certain.
