The communism idea is nothing new. It's not born in the 19th century as a new ideology. Marx contribution was mostly the economics fundamentals.
It has in fact ancient and religious roots - even Christ is an example of communist life.
The purest communist societies existed paradoxically, in America and were based on religious faith and not against it like marxism - see the Shakers.
Is capitalism bad? Yes, it is. Why? Because it is a type of society that rarely rewards value and effort. It is far from meritocracy and success is a matter of luck. It leads to the unfair exploitation of others. But that happened under communism as well and the coercion does not only have the economical aspect. In a way they are both similar, just the tools are different.
If you ask me, I don't even agree with democracy - ask Socrates why. It means the dictatorship of mediocrity.
As for social media - I never used FB or Twitter and I struggled to stay away from Google as much as I can - they are only tools for surveillance, mass control and manipulation.

Not long ago (guess last year) Putin said that communism didn't bring anything new. It just re-wrote Christian values of equality. Of course it was mis-used by the all Rusophobes and corporate media. Nevertheless, in modern terms Jesus Christ was pure socialist/communist. He preached to feed the poor. He criticized wealth hording. That's why it's ridiculous to see guys as Trump (guess that's hyperbole) speaking about Jesus.

Regime change has gotten a dirty name because it has been such a failure so now advocates call it other things like supporting the rebels or coerced democratization through sanctions. Whether it’s regime change by tank or rebel or sanction it’s the same end goal, just repackaged. https://t.co/xmHfb7XQkd

Mediocrity means a status of being ordinary or average - average intelligence, average abilities, average performance and sometimes even lower than that.
Democracy means the average get to decide the rules in a society and its future - ideally speaking as there is nowhere such thing as true democracy. What we have in most places is a deeply flawed representative democracy.
The superior minds of the world are isolated and their opinions don't count. They can only have their ideas pushed by the masses they reach to and manage to persuade.
While there is no proof whatsoever that intelligent and smart people may take better decision with regard to the rules and future of a society, simple logic will say that there would be a lower probability of failure. That would mean the so-called meritocracy - something that in my knowledge, humanity never experienced.

1. why were your family properties confiscated ? there has to be some kind of court order with a reason given in the document
2. why were your family members imprisoned and a couple of them executed ? if they were in prison there was some kind of legal procedure. what was the reason given in judgement ?

Instead they are used in a really sick way so that people are maintaining their own suffering from wars, hunger and illness. But it can not be changed "top-down", only in some kind of "grassroots revolution" or better "evolution" where more and more people work together to get rid of TPTB (whoever that is).
No need for a "big event" but development. One of my ideas to reach it: Don't play "their" games - don't use "their" rules - don't think in the box of "their" paradigms.
It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.
That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".

I guess you never lived in one of those countries.
These are simple answers.
After 1947 all businesses were confiscated (nationalized). The rich lost everything - properties, money, houses - that if they were not previously involved in politics and kept their mouths shut.. A few years later - until 1960 - all agricultural land on the country side was confiscated. Peasants were left with only the house and 1000m2 around it.
Family lost? Simple as well - first one was an officer in the Royal guard - he was executed summarily- arrested but did not even make it to prison - no trial. The second was a former police chief in province city. He was arrested (no reason specified) and declared dead about one year later, no trial. The luckiest was a doctor and arrested for speaking against the regime - spent 7 years in jail - he got a summary trial only after 3 years and sentenced to 15 as enemy of the state. He was liberated and later reinstated after 1965 when Ceausescu freed all the former political prisoners. He told me stories from prison I will never forget, including one about an amputation of a mate's rotten leg with a spoon sharpened on a stone.
There were no legal procedures. At the beginning there were not even laws to incriminate anything. They made the laws after thousands were already killed and tens of thousands were in prison or labor camps. The trials were a simple formality. There was never a single acquittal.
My mom was a minor and orphan - her dad died in the war. She was kicked out of school in grade 7 because she initially refused to hand in the lands she inherited from her father - it was just about less than 10ha.
Want more? I have more - lots more, but I guess that should do it for now.
As I said before I was lucky - that bloody era lasted from 1947 until 1965 - by the time I was born, all "reactionary" forces were defeated.

I am not a jew, but after 1989 I found something interesting we were never told in schools and even today is not mentioned anywhere in any history book.
There were lots of jews in Romania, especially in the area were I grew up. In my city, in '45 there were about 50% jews.
In the '80s I guess they were less than 1% as I only knew about a handful of them.
Interesting how most jews chose to flee the communism they pushed over Europe.
Romania debt? I don't give a shit about it. Had no debt in '89 - by the contrary was crediting countries like Libya and Iraq while people had rations of half a bread a day, 500ml of oil, 250gr butter and 1kg of sugar a month and gas purchase was limited to 20L/month per car. School and work week was 5 and a half days and many Sundays in the fall adults and high school students were forced to "volunteer" in harvesting all sorts of agricultural products.
If one thinks the people in a country live better or worse based on the level of debt he has a lot to learn.

But this is freedom and democracy, you must be too young to understand this.
Here in Germany witnesses of "terror attacks" get suicided since decades, that's quite normal. Dunno how it is in other countries in the "free west". Or look what happens to the yellow vest protesters. One thing I have learned, when it comes to things like this, the little fuckers like us have no "rights".
For indigenous people it means that genocide isn't over yet.

The main reason for my wish to change this society is that so many human skills have no chance to come to fruition.
That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-russia-nord-stream-allseas/russia-gas-export-pipeline-in-jeopardy-as-trump-signs-sanctions-bill-idUSKBN1YP00Z
Swiss-Dutch company Allseas said it had suspended work on building a major Russia-to-Germany natural gas pipeline in order to avoid U.S. sanctions contained in legislation signed by President Donald Trump on Friday.
The participation of privately-held Allseas, a specialist in subsea construction and laying underwater pipeline, is integral to the completion of Nord Stream 2, led by Russia’s state energy company Gazprom.
The national defense policy bill calls on the administration to identify companies working on the project within 60 days to trigger the sanctions. That report will likely be completed faster than that, however, meaning the sanctions could be triggered earlier than expected
Nord Stream 2 would allow Russia to bypass Ukraine and Poland to deliver gas under the Baltic Sea to Germany.
Gazprom is taking on half of the project’s planned costs and the rest is divided between five European energy companies: Austria’s OMV, Germany’s Uniper and Wintershall, Royal Dutch Shell and France’s Engie.
The Trump administration has touted U.S. liquefied natural gas as “freedom gas” that gives Europe an alternative to Russian supply.
$$ freedom gas
