According to a new study by Sierra Solter, megaconstellations could alter and weaken Earth’s magnetic field.

Solter is a graduate student at the University of Iceland, working on her PhD in plasma physics. She recently realized something overlooked by many senior colleagues:
 
“More than 500,000 satellites are expected in decades ahead, primarily to build internet megaconstellations. Every satellite that goes up will eventually come down, disintegrating in Earth’s atmosphere. This will create a massive layer of conducting, electrically charged particles around our planet.”
Much of this activity is driven by SpaceX and its growing mega-constellation of Starlink internet satellites. Copycat mega-constellations by other companies and countries will only multiply these concerns.
Metal debris from a single deorbited Starlink satellite is 7 million times more massive than the Van Allen Belts. An entire megaconstellation is billions of times more massive. These ratios point to a big problem.

“The space industry is adding enormous amounts of material to the magnetosphere in comparison to natural levels of particulate matter,” says Solter. “Due to the conductive nature of the satellite debris, this may perturb or change things.”

At least 95 members of Myanmar’s Border Guard Police have fled across the border to Bangladesh as fighting between the junta and the Arakan Army (AA) rages on in Myanmar’s neighboring Rakhine State. This marks the first time that Myanmar forces have been known to have fled into Bangladesh since the Three Brotherhood Alliance (3BHA) launched its offensive against the military government in October.

A video claiming to show a naval battle in the Red Sea has been circulating in the Russian-language segment since the morning. According to the video's caption, ships, including the American destroyer USS Labone and the British HMS Diamond, were reportedly fired upon by Houthi ballistic missiles, resulting in serious damage to the latter.

Upon closer inspection of the recording, it becomes apparent that the events depicted are more reminiscent of computer graphics. The ships moving in an unnaturally dense formation and the cruise missiles flying along smooth trajectories with illuminated "burning" engines all point to this conclusion, despite the absence of realistic sounds.

However, although this particular video is simply another product of gamers, rumors about a real incident involving the British destroyer HMS Diamond have been circulating for several days now. The reason behind these rumors is the ship's "disappearance" following one of the attacks, as well as yesterday's announcement of its return to the docks for maintenance.

While it is possible that these events are simply the result of breakdowns, which have become increasingly common for the Royal Navy recently, we should not discount the possibility that one of the missiles fired by the Houthis actually reached its intended target.

Currently, if you have a German drivers' license, for example, but commit offenses in another country that lead to a driving ban, that ban only applies there. Brussels is looking to close this loophole.

in the US.. licenses are issued by each state and good to drive throughout US.
if the license is revoked or suspended by driving violation anywhere... it is revoked/suspended everywhere.
